This weekend I tasted one of the best wines I've had in a long time. It is Sicilian, and it is called

"Principe Di Corleone Nero d' Avola" It is about $20.00 a bottle and worth every penny. I nominate it as the official wine of this site given its name and where it comes from.

Nero D'Avola are Sicily's oldest grapes, and make the best Sicilian wine. I've also tried another Sicilian winery called Hauner, but most of the wines available here in the US are their desert wines.

A very good suggestion, dt.
I would offer a counter: Francis Coppola Rosso, which is one of my favorite inexpensive reds. It's a very decent blend of several vinifera grapes, with surprising depth and character for its price. The connection to this site is obvious. Has anyone tried it?

My fav red wine is a german red but can't remember the name,its great,can't find it in UK..

Yes TB I have had it and like it. Also there is Francis Coppola Claret which is a blend of Cab, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. About $14.00
I hear there is also a Francis Coppola "Sofia" wine which is a high end one. Have never seen or tasted it. The thing to do would be to drink the Corleone wine forst...very subtle, and then go to the less expensive F.C. wines, thus covering all our bases.
