Well, I admit it, I thought that this book was really very good. I give Winegardner a LOT of credit for stepping into Puzo's shoes (may he rest in peace) and bringing these characters back to life. I loved the background information we got on a lot of the characters that Puzo created, even the ones where they just flickered in the book (ie., Sandra Corleone). All in all, I thought it was a great book.

Welcome to the boards, Mrs. C.

Oddly enough, those members just joining the boards, and older members who are just now getting around to reading the book are more aot to like it.

I've put off buying the book because of how negatively people here have reviewed it, maybe I should think about picking it up.

You can pick it up.

I just wouldn't advise reading it.

Bad boy! Taking this thread off-topic and adding negativism.

I assume that home address is nowhere near a golf course.

May I digress back to the topic...Hi Mrs. C. welcome. Ignore those other folks. Their intellect is often embellished by their bombastic boisterism. But they are nice people.

I have been reading the book...s-l-o-w-l-y. Usually on my trips to the library. I've found it .... interesting from the perspective of a Godfather fan. I approached the book with very little expectation. I've found some of it confusing, some written poorly, at times it seems like several different people wrote the book; the style seems to change every so often.

One thing I've determined so far. I have a clearer understanding of why Michael killed Fredo. Geez what a nut case.

Dont know anyone who liked it.
