More prophetic words were never truer today.....sorry plawrence.

Two Words: Go Dodgers!!

By the way....I had posted on the group message board the other day but dont see a way to do it now (there doesnt seem to be a "post" or "submit" button). Does anyone know what I am talking about? Not that I have any inclination at all to trash talk at this stage of the game but I hate not having the ability should the need arise someday.

Ooops, I should really let JGeoff up now.

I hafta laugh at that, Dolce, because I spent a 1/2 hour looking for the same "submit" button. Since I had already posted a message I figured that we're allowed to submit only one message and then change it (by hitting the "edit" button) if we want to add another.

Keep Geoff down.....it looks like he's gonna add a good night's score again.

BLACK CAR DRIVERS TRADE WHOLE PITCHING STAFF
G.M. Lawrence Pulls Trigger On Deal

Secaucus, NJ, April 3

In a late Night move this morning, BLACK CAR DRIVERS General Manager Paul Lawrence traded his entire pitching staff from the Florida Marlins for the staff of the Chicago Cubs.

Completing the deal just moments before the 3:00 AM trading deadline, Lawrence, who had gotten up to pee and decided to check the previous nights box scores before going back to bed, is having a rough spring in his first season as GM of a fantasy league team.

"I didn't realize the importance of pitching" Lawrence, a baseball fan for more than 40 years, said sheepishly. "And when I found out I could have the Cubs staff for the same price I was paying for the Marlins, the deal became a no brainer"

The DRIVERS, who are in danger of sinking into the cellar in the GANGSTER BBC League, are widely regarded as having one of the best offenses in the league.

Too funny, plawrence, that made me chuckle out loud!

Thank goodness for a Pacific Time Zone deadline and a late night pee break!

But realize I am RIGHT ON YOUR ASS. I hope to look back and see you behind me in the next few days.

haha!! Like you have paid up from the last time we bet!! But that is sometimes hard across many state lines....

Ok, that is something to think about. I'm 2 games behind, but your dreadful choice in pitching staff pretty much makes us even.

What's the bet? And is this for the season ending score?

Frankie Pentangeli: "I welched?"

What do you want me to do, send you a gift certificate for some crappy chain restaurant like Olive Garden or Red Lobster? My intention was to take you to Le Cirque or Picasso at the Bellagio next time I'm in Vegas.

Double or nothing on the first half of the season.

OK, which one of you yutz's is jinxing the Oakland A's????? Don't answer that, I already know....

Not pitching like last night.....

PS: I think Sosa & Company are pissed at my man Karros. Can he suck any more? Maybe my farm team the Isotopes will take him.

EDIT: I tried to post this on the BBC board and it said I violated the profanity check. I guess I have to say..... can Karros "blow", "stink", "under-perform" any more?.....

C'mon, what are the ODDS that 3 people outta 7 would choose the A's? Because we all watched last night's game? Ugh, I cant stand it.

I'm getting off JGeoff now, he is surely feeling our pain.

Don Sicilia - If you chose the option that your PC gives you to save your password, you can simply click on the "name" box, and your login name should come up, and it should bring up your password with it.

Dolce - I picked the A's today, too. The f*ckers already have me down 7 points (although Nomar Garciaparra has given me back 10!).

So now I'm sitting at work all day checking the box scores of day games in progress. This can be dangerous.

It is even more dangerous when your ass is firmly planted in last place....

Thank God the Dodgers are on now. Jordan has homered. I'm in the positive numbers again!

Biggio homered as well. I could be happier if not for the damn A's. arrrghhh.

Damn, I had Oakland today, too! It's still to early to see who's good this year or not... this first week is a big luck game

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Jeez, it's the fifth day of six month season. How desperate can you be?

BTW guys, I've got this thing figured out now. Yeah, I made a few rookie mistakes the first few days (like having no pitcher on Tuesday. Duh. ), but I want everyone to know that I am fully on track now, and if I don't win the first half, I expect to ROMP in the second half. :p

Yeah, whatever. Romp this.

And you ARE right, silly me. The word DESPERATE is simply not in my vocabulary.

It is early, indeed but I can be so competitive sometimes and disapointed when these teams CLEARLY do not HEAR me nor SEE my lips move from where they are.....

See you in Vegas. Bring your wallet.

LDV - You caught up, triple digits! You're only one big day from the top...

The first week or two is more of a crap shoot than anything... we'll see who'll be romping in a couple weeks (There I go jinxing myself, yet again!)

I've been in the 90% range for the entire week. And this is with Jeter on the roster and no dh for a few days. Also, I have yet to change my pitching staff, but they have done well.

I coulnd't decide to take Nomar and keep Nick Johnson as my DH or go with Lofton at DH and pick another lower shortstop. I go with Lofton, and Nomar puts up 10 pts. Oh well, Lofton is averaging over 6 pts.

BTW, my pitching staff is the Twinkies, and they have done AWESOME so far. Never pick the A's. Although they are a good staff to have for a season, picking them in fantasy leagues is bad news. They are too young and inconsistent. My opinion.

Do you hear that echo? It's ME!!! We have picked the same PS on the same day about 3 times now....ONE of us is BAD LUCK!

It is frustrating. I have been picking some really good players but my PS is really putting my score in the toilet.

I'm keeping the Yankees tomorrow with Clemens pitching. It's just gotta get better, right?

Oh, just GREAT! So did I!!

And every time I get rid of a player, the next day he hits 5 grand slams?

That's it! I'm done screwing around! You guys better beware!!

Last year it was so easy... Johnson, Schilling, Pedro, Lowe, and Yanks otherwise. This year, so far, it's a total guessing game (and, so far, most of the favorites have been total crap!)

I know JG probably thought this post was going to be me crowing about passing him in the standings, but don't worry; that's not my intention at all.

I just wanted to wish everyone in our group a "Happy Daylight Savings Time".

It doesn't hurt to mention it though! Ha ha!

On that note, I won't mention either that I jumped from last place (at least until LDV came late in the week) to second place because I don't want to jinx myself, unlike JG who is constantly jinxing himself!

JG... I had a quick question. I don't know if the BB has the capability, but how about making the fantasy season more interesting... Whoever the winner is, under his/her name or rank, you place something like "Reigning BB Fantasy Baseball Champ" much like "Moderator" is under SC's rank. It would serve as a reminder to the other 6 losers... er non-winners! Anyway, sorry if it's a stupid suggestion.
