Just wondering what baseball game y'all gonna pick up for the upcoming season.

I've been a big fan of the near-sim World Series Baseball (now ESPN Baseball) for its true-to-life simulation play, but this years edition sounds like they are getting off track with first-person play and other modes that really take up disk-space where other more deserving modes and animations and soundbytes on the DVD-ROM.

EA's MVP Baseball 2004 could be the winner for my cash. In recent years, I've bashed EA's more arcadey play in all of their franchises as opposed to Sega Sports, but this years edition (according to all reviews) seems to be the hit. It's gotten spectacular reviews, including IGN's Editors Choice Award. What really turned me on is that the reviewer is/was a World Series Baseball fan.

We'll have to see, I'll rent them all soon

Anyways, just wanted your thoughts since we do have quite a few baseball fans here, and apparently alot of video gamers as well.

IGN\'s Review

After reading about all of them, I decided I'm going with MVP 2004. Ive been waiting for a good franchise mode in a baseball game for a long time and it sounds like this will be just fine. Also, it has every real AAA and AA team, complete with the real players. It gonna rock!

I buy you out. You don't buy me out.

The only thing about the minor leagues (much like Barry Bonds) is that players not in the Players Association won't be in the game (but I'm sure you can edit the SanFran Slammer and put him on the Giants, since they will probably just change his name and his appearence a little.

EA Sports really has impressed me...I stopped buying their games after '01 when I switched to Sega Sports, but this might be the year (for baseball at least, ESPN NHL and NFL still 0wn) to rekindle an old flame with EA.

MVP Baseball has gotten good reviews from what I've seen. I'm hesitant to buy a baseball game because World Series last year wasted too much of my time. Maybe next year. Go Brewers!

MVP kicks ass, it's the best baseball game I've EVER played. It's currently ruining my GPA. So congrats EA, I fully recommend this game to any avid baseball fan as well as any casual onlooker.

Yeah, I've also bought MVP. It does kick ass. I havent posted about it since I've been too busy playing it. Ive been waiting so long for a good franchise mode in a baseball game and my prayers have finally been answered. I reccomend this game to any video game or baseball fan.

It's addictive. 4 game rounds of this title are not uncommon.
