I bought this novel, but haven't sat down to read it yet. Has anyone read it? If so, is it any good?

I'm currently in the middle (almost exactly) and it's great so far!

Me too. It's great! I love Cesare!

It's a great book so far, but it is taking me ages to read it. Not because I am dumb, because i'm not, but because I only really read before going to sleep and most times when my head hits the pillow (especially lately with xmas etc) i'm drunk and can't be arsed to read.

But anyway it is really good so far.

Someone must have finished it by now. What do they think of it?

I've read the book. It's really good. The whole story is so fascinating and real, it keeps you wondering and thinking. Some parts are dull, but throughout the whole story there's something happening. The ending was okay, but i wish it could've been better.

And to whoever ruined the story for the people who haven't read the book should get some major whoopin'!! Next time, use a spoiler warning.

if you like rennaisance history the Family is pretty good. i still prefer il padrino , or ometra over the family any day.

I gather you mean it is only out in hardback at the moment. Personally I hate hardbacks and find them too big too read. Maybe i'm just different!

As far as I know, it's still hardback (at least it was a couple of months ago). And my sentiments exactly on the hardback vs. softback, injektilo. The only time I'll spring for a hardback if it's something I want to keep for a long time or something I "collect." E.g., I got a lot of hardbacks on military history (mainly WWII and The War Between the States), history of the Old West, Philosophy, and just history in general. If it's just a "casual" read, though, I much prefer paperback!

Like most of Puzo's books, this too is his account based on historical facts. Lucrezia Borgia even has an opera written about her as well as other books.
