Hi Carol,

I have always wondered about The Sicilian. Why did Mario do it as a "sequel to the Godfather"?? I know that very small part of it relates to The Godfather, but couldn't he have done it otherwise? Or was this method thought to bring in more sales?

Did you ever discuss this?

Thanx.

Hi Sonny. That was a marketing decision and Mario pretty much stayed out of the way of marketing. He felt his job was the "writing" of a story, how it was sold didn't concern him. He felt the others knew how to market, he knew how to write.
