Just started reading Last Don, I'm up to book 4. Pippi and Cross AFTER Boz swims around the fence.

Are the Claudia, Athena, Skannet parts like the Fontane, Lucy. Nino parts in The Godfather? unimportant?

I've read 100+ pages and still don't know what the plot is.

Just basicall Boz harasses his wife, lots of guys screw Claudia, and Cross moved away from his father. What's the point? Why is it called the Last Don?

No. They all directly affect the story with Cross and come in contact with him

as the Don would say..relax, listen and learn...it will all be shown to you at a future time.....

Are the Last Don movies good? Are the're SIX tapes or 3? There's a LD1 and a LD2? What's the deal? Are they like the Godfather, where Puzo came up with a sequel or something?

I hear Mantegna is good in it.

- A bruglione is a Baron.
- Petie and Vicent are the sons of Domenico Clerecuzio, Giorgio's brothers, and Cross is their cousin, the Don's nephew (I think). Gronevelt is the father figure to Cross, the hotel-casino owner of the Xanadu. He also appears in Fools Die.
- The Last Don mini-series is good, some people didn't like it, but I enjoyed it. I've never seen it on tape, just on TV so all I know about it is that it's aired on TV over 2 nights, usually a Sunday and Monday. There's no sequel to The Last Don as far as I know, it's just broken up into two parts.
- Joe Mantegna is good in it, but I think Jason Gedrick stole the show. Kirstie Alley was convincing as Rose too, I liked her as well.

What is a baron? I'm familiar with the Underboss, Capo Regime, Consigliere, Don, Button, Soldier, roles in The Godfather. Which one of these is most like a baron?
Pipp's the nephew, and Rose is daughter, Cross and Dante are Don's grandsons. Too bad Ballazzo got knocked off.

Anyybody else think of it as opposed to the Godfather. Giorgio is Tom Hagen, the Don's advisor. Pippi is Michael Corleone, he goes to Sicily for two years. Dom is Vito, Don. Petie and Vincent could be either Fontane and Fredo, or Clemenza/Tessio or Rocco/Neri. Rose is Connie, mad that her husband was killed. Pipp's son Cross is Michael's son Anthony, reluctant to join the Family. Dante is Rose's son, Victor Rizzi, but he makes more sense as Sonny's son Vincent Mancini, he takes pride in his killings, he makes rookie mistakes, he doesn't know when to shut up. Silvio is Sonny, killed in the war. Ballazzo is Clemenza/Pentangelli, the Capo who snitched and was knocked off.

Boz, Claudia, Athena, and such could be the Fontane/Lucy/Nino/Deanna subplot. Governor Wavven could be Senator geary. Gronevelt could be Genco. Redfellow is Sollozzo, the drug man. It matches up pretty good.

I can't believe they killed Pippi! I never saw it coming he's buying groceries and perfume on Rodeo Drive, and then BOOM he's gone. The F*cking Santadios. One more chapter in this *book* theni get to read aboutt he Santadio war.!

i did some checking up on the movies. And it appears that Last Don1 goes from 1965-1985 and includes Athena and Santadios even tho, Cross met Athena in 1990, and the Santadio war happened PRIOR to 1965. Apparently LD2 is NOT in the novel but is a 1996 spin-off.

Weird! I can't find ANY LD sites, or a LD script, help me! I can't even find where i rent the movies! let alone buy them. when they on Tv next?

The whole complete story was on last weekend. Start to finish....I watched the whole thing. Just kicked back and relaxed. It was good as a lazy Sunday gets.
