Hey guys!!
im a new member and just recently stumbled upon this site (by the way its a great site).
I've read a few of Puzo's books, The Sicilian, The 4th K, and the Godfather. I was just wondering if there is any particular order in which i should read some of the other books. i recently just bought Omerta, but just found out that its the third of the american mob books, can someone just confirm that The Last Don is the second.
can someone also explain to me the different Godfather films available, and any recommendations on which to buy. right now the dvd set is my first choice when it comes out.

I know several Puzo books that are not often mention, such as the fortunate pilgrim, dark arena and fools die. I dont know that these are part of the Cosa Nostra theme, he surely did other genres.

The Godfather Films have come out in many different forms, of which I know the following:

The Godfather (1972) VHS, with black background and Vito Corleone on the cover.

The Godfather (1997) VHS, Letterbox edition, that has a beige/bronze background

The Godfather 25th year edition (1997) VHS, The edition released to celebrate 25 years time elapsed since its original theatrical release.

The Godfather Collection (1997) VHS, Godfather I, II, and III in a one piece set, six cassettes I believe. Part III is director's cut, with additional footage

The Godfather Saga 1901-1959 (19__) VHS, released for television with extra scenes not found in original releases. Details of this are at JGeoff's Godfather website.

The Godfather Trilogy (1997) VHS, All three films, with extra scenes not found in original released. Details of this are at JGeoff's Godfather website.

The Godfather set (2001) DVD, All three films, on four discs, with a fifth bonus with all the extra scenes and extra commentary. Unfortunately, silly Copolla didn't have them added to the films themselves, so I am assuming the films are simply dvd versions of the original three.
