I've only ever used it for dressing or dipping but apparently it is traditional in some parts actually to drink it from a glass - has anyone ever done so and if so, why?

I've heard of singers drinking a little before a performance, but just drinking it to drink it? I don't know about that... I love olive oil, but I don't know about drinking it by the glassful!


I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

yes it does...especially if your gonna drink liquor...while we say it "coats" ur stomach...thats obv not what it really does...but it does work

While growing up, my mom used olive oil a lot in cooking; with pasta/garlic, it was used to dip bread in, and I believe I have heard of it coating your stomach. However, I don't know of anyone who actually drank a glass of it. I think it'd make me sick.

I use it all the time for salads and cooking and also instead of butter, but drink it? Sometimes!!

I drink swing oil when I play golf , but I couldn't imagine drinking straight olive oil. It sure is great for dunking bread, or for "oonging" as my wife calls it.

I do not drink olive oil but I do take a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar each day. It cleans out the system. You can pick some up at any health food store.
