Surrounding Connecticut’s relatively-new reputed Patriarca mob crew boss Eddie Parrette is an inner circle mixed with young and old wiseguys alike, and a very close link to the Gambino crime family, per sources on both sides of the law.

Parrette allegedly assumed command of the New England mafia’s Connecticut affairs in the years following the sudden passing of his mentor in the rackets, Anthony (Beaver) Ascenzia, in the summer of 2020 at the age of 61 and reports directly to distinguished Providence mob capo, Matthew (Good Looking Matty) Guglielmetti, according to multiple exclusive GR sources. Guglielmetti, 75 and currently the subject of a federal narcotics inquiry, reportedly “loves” and “trusts” Parrette immensely, these sources allege. Sharp-as-knife “Good Looking Matty” and the powers that be in Providence had issues with Ascenzia in the final decade of his life because of dwindling tribute — a problem allegedly remedied by Parrette’s emergence as a shot caller in the region.

Parrette owns a long-time reputation of being a big-time earner in the New England underworld. His connections and contacts stretch from the Patriarcas in Rhode Island and Boston to the Gambino mob in New York City and ties to the Latin Kings Hispanic gang organization across the entire East Coast, sources and federal intelligence documents claim. He did a three-year stretch in the feds for a drug pinch and walked free in 2002. Convicted in a disturbing the peace case in 2018, Parrette was arrested for a DUI and gun possession last year.

Ground Zero for the Patriarca crime family’s satellite wing in Connecticut is Doma in Main, a popular Italian restaurant Parrette co-owns with alleged Gambino mobster John (Johnny the Mop) Liquori in Branford. Liquori, 54, was busted for bookmaking with a Gambino crew out of Connecticut in 2012 and dd a year and a half in the can. Before linking up with the Patriarcas in the early 2000s, Parrette was on-record with the Gambinos and acts as Guglielmetti’s main point of contact with the Gambino crew operating in the Constitution State, sources say.

The two top guys in Parrette’s Patriarca crew are John (Johnny Boy) Taddei, Jr. and Frances (Franny the Diner) Gratta, per sources. Taddei, Jr. has a mob-stock Patriarca clan pedigree; his dad was John (Gentlemen John) Taddei, Sr., a loyal New England mafia button in the 1980s and 1990s. Convicted-felon “Franny the Diner” Gratta is an OG at 75 and is allegedly the No. 1 bookie in the state of Connecticut — he goes back to the Grasso era days of the Patriarca mob in the area. Parrette’s muscle comes from his affiliation with the Latin Kings and a Twentysomething clique of mob-figure aspirants who can always be seen by his side at his court-holding sessions and are eager to impress their superiors, according to several sources with first-hand knowledge of the situation.

Liquori and Taddei, Jr’s names surfaced in a COVID-19 fraud case linked to Genovese crime family affiliates three years ago, referred to in grand jury and court testimony as the, “guys at Doma,” That same year, in 2021, Doma on Main had its’ liquor license temporary suspended by the state for refusing to provide details on a financial backer-permittee related to the restaurant’s business operations. Attorneys for Parrette, Liquori, Taddei, Jr. and Gratta all deny their clients have any role in Connecticut organized-crime dealings.
