Gregory J. Scarpa Jr was born on April 8,1951 son of Connie Forrest and Gregory "The Grim Reaper" Scarpa Sr a Colombo mobster and Fbi mole.
Followes his father in the mob life and becomed a mobster in the Colombo family and as he said was made in October 31,1978 in the same ceremony where was made Michael Franzese even if another date could be the 1981.After made was placed in Anthony “Scappy” Scarpati crew and become official capo in 1984 until december 1987 when was indicted for drug trafficking. In February 1989 he was sentenced to 240 months' imprisonment sent to Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC).
In 1995 Vittorio Amuso the boss of the Lucchese family insulted Greogory father calling him "rat",that is true but Scarpa jr decided to defend his father honour and beaten Amuso that maybe thinked that his boss status would have prevented Scarpa Jr from attacking him but he was wrong.
Scarpa Jr was sent away from the other mobsters and came into contact with Ramzi Yousef the mastermind behind the 1993 World Trade Center attacks to provide information in exchange for a 10 year reduction to his twenty year sentence which however was increased to 40 years because the judge did not consider the information useful the informations provided.In 2005, Scarpa tipped off authorities about previously undiscovered explosives and ammunition buried in the crawl space of the home of Terry Nichols, a fellow prisoner at ADX Florence who had previously been convicted for his role in the Oklahoma City bombing. The Federal Bureau of Investigation had previously searched the home multiple times and the new discovery "embarrassed the F.B.I." according to Judge Edward Korman of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. In December 2015, Judge Korman issued an order reducing Scarpa's sentence to 30 years in prison due to his tip in the Oklahoma City bombing case.
The reduction was reversed upon appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit which reasoned that, although he had provided substantial assistance to the government, the government had the right not to reduce his sentence based on legitimate concerns related to his false statements in the Yousef case.
In November 2020, Judge Korman granted Scarpa a compassionate release from prison. Scarpa had been suffering from cancer and treatment had left him with no salivary glands and a hole in his throat. He planned to live with a sister in Florida.

Mazza recalled how Scarpa sr would brag and laugh as he described how Mary Bari’s ear went flying across the room when he shot her in the head. also Carmine Sessa took part in the murder of Bari.
