Getting this thread started early since the offseason is about to begin soon. As a Yankees fan, I hope we get the Japanese pitcher who was just posted. Soto’s name has been brought up so if we can trade for him, I think that’s the biggest move that they can make right now.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, there's no quick fix. If the owners refuse to increase payroll, they're going to have to get creative.

They hired an outside company to evaluate the organization. I am not sure if that will cause any sort of drastic change. If they really want that pitcher similar to how they wanted Gerrit Cole though then I think they will go all out for him.

I hope so but they're gonna need more. Sevy is gone and they just waived German. Rodon and Cortes had terrible seasons and Schmidt is not a starter, even though I heard they're gonna try to stretch out King. But as of now, there's not a single person reliable behind Cole, and that's not good.

I think we need new 3B, LF, temp CF, SP and then got holes to fill in the bullpen. We might need to start a gofundme

Health is the main thing but with an aging roster, it may be unrealistic unfortunately. Judge and Stanton you can pencil in to have time on the DL every year. Rodon was absolute garbage and I'm hoping Cortez can bounce back after his knee gave him fits. Still gonna need guys to eat up innings though.

Yep my only concern with the moves is the outfield composition, I don’t want judge in center but can we put Verdugo there? That’s the only piece I’m not getting with the Verdugo move

I agree. The outfield's not gonna be as fast or athletic as it could be with Judge and Soto out there. Heard they're really going to be in on Yamamoto but even if they get him, you've got him, Cole, Rodon, and Cortes (the last 2 of which you hope can bounce back from injury riddled seasons). You're still gonna need a fifth and Clark Schmidt is not the answer.

I'm hoping there's gonna be 2 starters signed whether that's through a trade or we get a big signing + some cheap options. Losing Brito as well as King means we're really lacking depth now. Trading Gleyber for a starter makes sense but if that happens we'll need to sign a 3B too. I'm content with Schmidt in and around the rotation as we're going to need him one way or another

I think they trade Gleyber at some point if they're smart. They're not gonna try to sign him long-term, so get assets for him while you can. Schmidt may work better out of the pen but he's not a MLB starter IMO.

Im thinking that too but I don’t wanna go into the season with only dj and peraza so we’d need to replace gleyber if we do trade

I've been saying that since before this season. Sign him on a 1 year deal. He'll have a chip on his shoulder and wants to rebuild his value. I don't care about optics or what the feminist might say, I want to win. And if Cole truly does too, he'll put away their college beef and pitch to win. That's what he's being paid for, not liking everybody on the roster.

Yanks sign Stroman to 2-years, $37 million. Glad they kept the years short and when he's healthy he can be a solid addition but just like Rodon and Cortes, how many times are they gonna take the ball? Not a bad signing but doesn't move the needle much for me in terms of the teams overall chances either. Still need more pitching.

Agreed we gotta get one more and probably one or two for the bullpen too. Faith in them doing that? Not much lol

There's still some arms out there, Snell, Montgomery, Hader. Maybe as it gets closer to spring training their asking price will go down?

I think a trade is more likely, maybe Lazardo from the Marlins. From NY Post article today they're saying maybe one for the bullpen and that'll be it, Wandy was mentioned.

Not sure what assets they have left after the Soto trade. Doesn't sound like they're gonna get Dylan Cease.

We got like 42 or 43 players on the 40 man now so I think they’ve tried to build trade capital any way they can. Otherwise they’ll just have to dfa those they don’t want on there. So hopefully they get something done, worst case they dfa. I think Spencer jones is one trade piece they have left and chase hampton. Other options are if they’re willing to trade someone like gleyber peraza Cabrera or pereira. I think verdugo could also potentially be a trad piece as I don’t get the outfield mix we currently have if judge is gonna be in centre I don’t like it

I think our lineup is very good. Almost great. If Anthony Volpe is as good as advertised, that provides a big lift for the offense. The rotation could be shaky though.

I agree lineup is strong. I don’t like judge in CF personally but hopefully that won’t be for long. Rotation very concerning with an injury. Effross put on 60 day today, out til summer lol

Lineup is good, need Stanton to bounce back and looking forward to Dominguez coming back in the summer (that'll make us that much deeper). Rotation has too many question marks due to injuries. I'm still a proponent of signing Trevor Bauer to the league minimum. Dude's gonna pitch with a chip on his shoulder and you can't go wrong with the league minimum salary, I don't care what the PR blow back is.

Yea they’ve already taken a “risk” on Stroman though so I just don’t see any world they would add Bauer too. I think they will run with what we’ve got and the second someone gets hurt they’ll panic and make a move

Unless guys are healthy and have bounce back years (like Rodon & Cortes), this isn't a title team with that rotation. Honestly surprised Snell and Montgomery are still out there. Heard the Yanks made an offer to Snell but he rejected it. Wonder if either of their asking prices will come down with spring training upon us now?

We did offer snell who rejected and we then signed Stroman. Scott boras is agent for all the top free agents left and is playing a strange game. At this stage he must be waiting for injuries and hoping a team panics. Bellinger has also not signed yet
