Yep the ultimate Dance/House track. I was a fan of New Beat.
Technotronic was founded by Jo Bogaert in the late 1980s . Bogaert was one of the driving forces during the heyday of the new beat. However, during 1989 the new beat came to an end. With Patrick De Meyer he produced the single Technotronic during that period as The Pro 24's . There was not much interest in the song, but the record label heard some potential. Employee Patrick Busschots advised him to add rap to the song, because hiphouse was becoming popular at that time.

The Top 40 has been the leading hit list in the Netherlands since 1965. In the Today section we look back at events in pop music that took place exactly X years ago. In this episode of Today: the discontinuation of sales of O Fortuna.
For weeks they both managed to find a place in the top 5, but after February 24, 1992 everything changed. The Amsterdam court rules that the house versions of O Fortuna by the Belgian acts Fortuna featuring Satenig and Apotheosis may no longer be distributed. The singles are currently in second and fifth place respectively in the Top 40. O Fortuna is originally a poem from the 13th century song cycle Carmina Burana.
In 1936, the German composer Carl Orff (1895-1982) set a number of texts from the collection to music, of which O Fortuna became the best known. Although the rights have been paid for the samples in both house versions, Orff's relatives want to have the singles banned because they had not given permission and would not have given it if asked. Due to the ban, the singles disappear from the charts quite quickly.
