Abe (The Baron) Minker - Reading, Pennsylvania's Rackets "Kingpin" With fistfuls of bribe money, a silver tongue, and a big pair of balls, Minker slowly but surely infiltrated and corrupted an entire City. And after awhile it became painfully obvious that mob boss Abe Minker was the real “Mayor” of Reading, Pennsylvania. Maybe that’s why Abe eventually gained the nicknames, “The Baron” and “The General.” https://thenewyorkmafia.com/abe-the-baron-minker-reading-pa-racket-kingpin/-- ...A ButtonGuys Exclusive!

Good story, nice work. I do believe Abe Minker was on record with Philadelphia considering how many of that families associates operated in and around Reading. Some other things, when Tony Moran was killed in 1945 was when the LCN started to assert their influence in the area, while the Kreitz cousins operated independently, among many others. Charles Lucchese was an associate of the Bufalino family on record with Edward Sciandra, dont know if Lucchese was ever made or not. Tony and Benny Bonanno were related to Salvatore Sabella of Philadelphia. Al Comito was associated with the Genovese family before moving to the Reading area, and George Barrow had connections with Genovese, Lansky, Lucchese, Boston, and New Jersey. Joe Donato's murder in 1963 was ordered by Ignazio Denaro relaying that ordered from Angleo Bruno as Denaro would never make a move like that without his bosses ok. Overall good article.

Great piece of mob history, thanks NYM. I'm impressed Liggio. It looks like you've come full circle, no? From insults to compliments. Lol. If I'm not mistaken, I think this is the first time you've ever recognized, let alone complimented, a ButtonGuys article...So thank you for that! I'm glad you enjoyed it. - I imagine this is also your way of offering me an olive branch. Am I correct in assuming that? If so, then let me state for the record that I accept your olive branch...at face value. And, if not forgotten, let me say, all is forgiven. Now lets move forward and try to interact as fellow forum members in a constructive and friendly way, ok? Does that sound good to you?
