A-Rod ratted out PED users and lied to the Yankees: New bombshell documents!

Alex Rodriguez ratted out his fellow cheating MLB stars.

The former Yankees third baseman revealed to federal agents in 2014 he had been told by Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch that Manny Ramirez, Ryan Braun and one other All-Star player were also performance-enhancing drug clients, according to documents obtained by ESPN.
The third All-Star has never tested positive for PEDs and was not named in the story.
Rodriguez gave the agents those names when he met with two assistant U.S. Department of Justice attorney and seven Drug Enforcement Administration agents Jan. 29, 2014.
This meeting came several weeks after he received his 211-game suspension for violating MLB’s PED policy, which earned him a ban for the entire 2014 season.
The third baseman had been granted “Queen for a Day” status by prosecutors, per the report, which allowed him to share details without fear of legal prosecution.

Ramirez served a 50-game suspension in 2009 while with the Dodgers for violating the league’s PED policy.
He was hit with a 100-game suspension in 2011 while with the Rays but he never served that ban, instead opting to retire.
Braun received his suspension in 2013.
The third player had not been on the federal agents’ radar and never received a suspension from MLB, according to ESPN.

Rodriguez admitted for the first time in the meeting that he used PEDs he purchased from Bosch, per the report, which he had denied publicly.
He said he paid roughly $12,000 per month to Bosch for “doping protocols fueled by testosterone creams, red, gummy-like lozenges containing testosterone and human growth hormone” from 2010-12, per the report.
The three-time AL MVP paid Bosch via cash, and sometimes used petty cash obtained from the Yankees traveling team secretary – who was not involved in the scheme.

Rodriguez also told the agents his cousin, Yusi Sucart Sr., had supplied him with performance-enhancing drugs for at least a decade.
He also claimed his cousin later tried to blackmail him with a $5 million threat, according to the report.
The report included details that Rodriguez admitted to the federal agents he lied to Yankees president Randy Levine in 2012 when he told him he did not have a relationship with Bosch.
Rodriguez declined comment for the story to ESPN, which is one of his current employers.
The 14-time All-Star joined the Worldwide Leader in 2018 and now co-hosts of the “KayRod Cast,” the alternate feed of ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” game.

It seems that nobody has a single thread of integrity nowadays...What a sad commentary.

I always find it sorta funny that all of those online nitwits are acting like the Mob is filled to the brim with rats and that all wiseguys are out there ratting each other out when in truth all criminal conspiracies that get busted are sooner or later dealing with stoolies. Doesn't matter which kind of criminal organization is involved, all of them have had to deal with snitching and have to do so on a regular basis. Yet whenever an Italian criminal squeals it gets publicized as if they're the only ones who tend to spill the beans lol.

This is not an OC topic, I don't know why it's here, it should be in the sports or general topic section.

Pudge Rodriguez was a big steroid user and got into the Hall of Fame. Sports enforcement of it's PED policy is a farce.

Well, truth be told, the Italian mob, aka Mafia, is the most romanticized organized crime network out there...and has always been. Since before the days of The Godfather movie.

And, although there are still a lot more so-called "stand up" guys out there, as opposed to rats, the volume of informers nowadays has expanded exponentially from what it was many decades ago that its become a veritable cottage industry in and of itself. And a running joke!

And, aside from the "criminal world" per se, are the legions of so-called "legit" guys, legit businessmen and just regular folks, who roll over today on each other over the slightest thing. And they're not even bound by the legendary Omertà or mob lore.

Back in the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, etc., even legitimate people had more integrity for one another.
--
A perfect example of this is whats happening all over the world today. Case in point, A-Rod. What does it teach our youth about being a "stand up" guy, a man, and taking responsibility for one's own actions, instead of trying to "bail out" of your trouble be throwing others under the bus?

Here is a man, a major figure in the world of sports and an idol to millions of kids all over the United States (all over the world for that matter,) who rats out his fellow teammates (his buddies, no less) to escape his own dirty deals and just punishment!

Whatever happened to "takin' one for the team?" With this mentality, kids coming up today will look to weasel out of every uncomfortable situation by "ratting."

The "tattletale" at school who tells on another kid, the Army soldier who doesn't jump on that grenade (saving his entire platoon at his own expense,) the "whistle blower" at work who informs to the boss about a co-worker, etc., etc....In short, a guy who never learns to fight his own battles and take his lumps (like a man) because many people today, society in general today, have been taught its ok to be wimps?

So, at the end of the day, its not just many mob guys who have adopted that mentality...but society as a whole. THATS the real problem!

Its a very sad, but very true, fact of life nowadays!

The NYPost reported;

"The third baseman had been granted 'Queen for a Day' status by prosecutors, per the report, which allowed him to share details without fear of legal prosecution."....(How embarrassing!)

David Wells rips Alex Rodriguez for snitching on PED users: ‘Nobody likes a rat’
-
David Wells and New York City’s newest czar have something in common.

Neither one likes a rat.

So when the former Yankees pitcher learned live on the air during Thursday’s episode of “Foul Territory” that Alex Rodriguez had reportedly ratted out some of his steroid-using baseball colleagues, Wells had a message for Rodriguez.

“That’s not good. That will come back to bite you in the ass tenfold,” Wells said during the show. “Nobody likes a rat. You always lie your way out of everything until you get caught and then you got to come clean.”

A bombshell report from ESPN on Wednesday provided new details about a January 2014 meeting Rodriguez had with federal investigators, during which he gave up the names of several other MLB players who were working with Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch to get performance-enhancing drugs.

After the “Foul Territory” hosts explained to Wells what was contained in the World Wide Leader’s report, the 21-year veteran hurler compared it to things admitted steroid-user Jose Canseco did.

Canseco came out with books in 2005 and 2008, naming alleged steroid users.

In the latter book, “Vindicated,” Canseco even claimed he introduced Rodriguez to a steroid supplier.

“That’s kind of allegedly what Canseco did when he wasn’t getting all the recognition and then he started dropping names and all that — allegedly,” Wells said.

Wells didn’t seem too fond of the fact that players had used the drugs — though he jokingly said he wished he would have taken steroids during his career.

“I would have had a better body, and who knows what the hell would have happened,” the former MLB pitcher said in jest.

But when Wells got a bit more serious, he acknowledged that PEDs gave players an unfair advantage.

“Steroids is a different subject because that does enhance you. That does make you stronger,” he said. “But for the guys that were injured and it was under a doctor’s supervision I don’t think I’d have a problem with it.

“All the guys that did it and were lying about it saying they never did it, you know they did it. But it’s like, what the hell? I’m a code guy, I won’t throw anybody under the bus.

“You just live and learn with it and I know what I did in my career, so I’m alright with it.”

Wells, who had two separate stints with the Yankees, was back in The Bronx last weekend for Old-Timers’ Day at Yankee Stadium and was outspoken in his feelings on “woke” culture, specifically targeting Nike and Bud Light.

He even went as far as to put a piece of tape of the Nike logo on his jersey.
