A very unique hierarchy chart depicting the entire Brooklyn faction of NJ's Sam DeCavalcante Crime Family. We got more DeCav's coming too...

My guess is that the U/B was from Brooklyn, Bensonhurst area and he recruited heavily from that area.
My guess comes partially from reading NYMafia's posts.

Sam the plumber wasn't worried about a coup attempt meaning he let the BK, U.B. build a faction that was just about equal to the N.J. faction as NY Mafia pointed out, he listed 45 NJ members and 41 NY members. Very often the admin is mindful NOT to add new blood to potential rival crews within their own family, if the build that crew too much that crew could become too strong and make a play for the top spot.

Alot of the B.K. members were also associates of the Colombo family a lot of them grew up together in the neighborhood and later on had joint Colombo/Decav rackets.

What is the biggest change in the family is they never rebuilt their NY faction again.
The last Capo in Brooklyn I believe was Anthony Rotundo and we all know that he flipped.

The Bensonhurst recruiting ground has 100% dried up for the family, they are left with the N.J. faction.

What we dont know is do any of the remaining members, do they have a desire to keep the family viable in the future or if they just dont care or want to take the risk.
Will one or have a few gotten together and made a decision that they want to keep America's oldest LCN family going, or are they going to let it go by the way of the DOO-DOO BIRD?

We dont hear about any of their sons or nephews the only ones that I hear about are Riggi's two sons which I believe one is a captain the other is made.

We dont hear anything about the family.
However, historically that has been the case they way under the radar, before the indictments of the late 1990's early 2000's the only guy to do any real time in that family was Riggi.

We know they are under the flag of the Gambino's who are Sicilian led we do not hear that much about the Gambinos these days,

A couple of indictments a year maybe for 200 members, so if the Decavs have 25 members and we only hear about indictments every few years, is that so out of whack?

One guy that I remember being the real deal is Abramo.

I remember Phillip Abramo was the real deal on wall street respected and feared by all the families that were on the street at the time.
Sovreign Equities was one of his firms nobody FUCHED with him/them.

If anyone is interested in Frank Cocchiaro's story, we did a video on him a while back (also available on the website)....plus an article on his brother Carmelo.

Bensonhurst, Elizabeth, Newark and the Oranges have all dried up as recruitment areas for any family and esp. the Decavs. Only thing in Elizabeth remotely Italian is the Ribera social club. In my opinion this family is all but defunct. Used to be a few posters who tried claiming the shore was awash in activity now. It’s just not true. I’m not saying nothing is going on but it’s not major activity. And what is going on is more Ny and philly controlled.

I think the Decavs are still operating as a functioning criminal enterprise, but I doubt their influence is overwhelming. At the end of the day, I can only speculate. I'm not from the area and I don't know nor did I grow up with people in the East Coast mob life. It's not my business to say what other posters may or may not know, but I think speculating and forming our own opinions with the information at hand is all most of us on here can do. Only people deeply involved in that life can tell for sure what's going on as we speak.

I do know wherever you go there's always activity going on and there's always names outsiders will never read or hear about. And you don't need an army to make money or terrify people.

It shouldn't be much longer now fellas...

I just completed the story and finished the hierarchy chart for our next DeCavalcante-NY faction installment. It's now in the "factory" for a final artistic design and so a mugshot gallery can be added so Lisa can format it into our ButtonGuys style.

She also happens to be working on several other current projects as well. But hopefully, we can get this released in the next day or two.

I know that I've mentioned this particular project for several weeks already. So I wanna thank everyone for their continued patience. Grazie!

I think everyone is going to be very surprised by the overall size of the DeCavalcante Family's NYC membership. I know that after releasing our Frank Cocchiaro "Brooklyn Regime" installment we received many comments and inquires regarding that faction.

And with this next release, I think it'll finally put their NYC racket operations into clearer focus once and for all.

While the recruitment pool is nothing compared to what it was there are still plenty of Italians, 2,500,000 in New York State and 800,000 in NYC, Staten Island is 15 minutes away from Bensonhurst and there 200,000 Italians alone. N.J. has 1,500,000.

That is about 4,000,000 Italians between the two.

If they have 4 crews and they induct 2 members from each that is 8, for a family that has 20-30 button guys, 8 new guys that is 25%
So, there is no issue with replenishing the ranks.

I agree there are plenty of Italian guys still around. How many of them wanna get connected, and the "quality" of those who do want that, is another story though altogether.
