The State Of The Mafia In Kansas City: “Johnny Joe,” “Las Vegas Pete” & The Boys In The Civella Family Still Alive & Kickinghttps://gangsterreport.com/the-stat...-the-civella-family-still-alive-kicking/January 12, 2023 — The mob in Kansas City in 2023 is small and stable, but still functioning and making money, per sources on both sides of the law in Missouri. Midwest mafia “OGs” John (Johnny Joe) Sciortino, 79, and Peter (Las Vegas Pete) Simone, 77, continue to run the show in K.C. , keeping cash churning and burning from traditional street rackets and themselves firmly insulated by a series of buffers and loyal advisers. Both “Johhny Joe” and “Las Vegas Pete” are convicted felons and longtime staples of FBI pyramid charts showing the Civella crime family structure. [Rest of content deleted. The State Of The Mob In New England: Big Cheese Remains Top Dog, Oversees Balanced Team-Leadership Effort In Patriarcas Due To Bad Health
January 2, 2023 — Power in the Patriarca crime family these days is peacefully splintered among multiple parties across the New England underworld landscape, according to sources and court filings.
North End Boston mob chief Carmine (The Big Cheese) DiNunzio is still the boss, but health ailments have forced him to use a series of street bosses and leadership counsels to keep the crime family churning and burning, these sources allege. His brother, Anthony (The Little Cheese) DiNunzio and old-timers Anthony (Spucky) Spagnolo and Vinnie (The Animal) Ferrara are reputed to have aided the Big Cheese in running the family in the Boston area.
Per Rhode Island State Police records, Providence mafia skipper Edward (Little Eddie) Lato, got a recent bump-up to underboss of the Patriarcas to replace Matthew (Good Looking Matty) Guglielmetti, who like the Big Cheese, is encountering medical issues and needed to lighten his responsibility load. Guglielmetti is far from retired though, sources say, acting as one of Lato’s and the DiNunzios top advisers and receiving tribute from several different rackets. Lato, 73, now appears to lord over Federal Hill unimpeded, seeming to have dodged rumors of a pending murder case (from a cold-case 1992 mob hit) coming to fruition.
Well-connected and well-liked, the Big Cheese is 65 and battling a myriad of health problems tied to his enormous weight, per sources. The spry 82-year old Spucky Spagnolo is the first-among-equals in an administrative-counsel set up comprised of Little Cheese DiNunzio, 64, and Vinnie Ferrara, 73, to look after affairs on the street in Boston, these sources say. Spagnolo and the younger DiNunzio have held acting boss duties in the past, according to court records.
Ferrara was a rising star in the Patriarca clan during the 1980s, reaching capo status in his 30s, before a 15-year prison term derailed is ascent. He walked free in 2005 after he got a murder conviction wiped off the books. Until recently, Ferrara kept a low-key profile in Boston mob activity, chiming in with opinions and advice at times to whoever held the No. 1 spot in the crime family. That changed in the late 2010s, according to sources and Ferrara was brought back into the fold on a more consistent basis at Big Cheese DiNunzio’s request.
Massachusetts State Police publicly named Ferrara the target of a racketeering investigation last year, seizing more than $200,000 of funds from his bank account the state says was income derived from illegal means. Two sources claim DiNunzio and Spagnolo “gave” Ferrara Norfolk County to run and collect mob tribute from. Ferrara owns large swaths of real estate in Boston’s North End, including several cash-cow parking structures and valet service businesses, per sources and Suffolk County property records.
Even more old-timers remain in the mix, chipping in with counsel for the DiNunzio regime, sources says, naming East Boston OGs Bobby Carrozza and Biagio (Benny the Greaser) DiGiacomo, as “consigliere types” to the DiNunzios and Spagnolo. More than one source tabs Carrozza the Patriarca’s official consigliere. Carrozza, 82, and DiGiacomo, 76, went down with Vinnie the Animal in the same historic 1990 RICO case that featured wiretap evidence of Ferrara and DiGiacomo conducting a mafia induction ceremony in
October 1989. These same sources believe up-and-comer Billy (The Angel) Angelesco has control of the South Coast and parts of Maine and New Hampshire for the DiNunzios, however, is using his own set of buffers and front men to run things because he just got out of prison on a robbery conviction. In his youth, Angelesco, 52, served as a driver and bodyguard for the DiNunzios at times.

The fact that Ferrara is "more" involved is shocking. He's had two close calls in the last 10 years with the law and he knows they must watch him closely. He's got serious investments in real estate and restaurants but I guess these guys like the action and power you get from being at (or near) the top of the mob. DiGiacomo around and weighing in sounds silly, but who knows.
Carrozza has had a good run, he's got to be out of jail 15 years now and his name and picture nearly never come up. Most of the NE LCN have been laying pretty low with serious guys like Matty, Lato, the Cheese, his brother Carrozza, Spagnola and others all out at once
I guess the case on Lato wacking Hanrahan is nothing now, DeLuca would had made for a shitty witness. Lato is tougher than tough, did a decade after the strip club shakedowns like it was 3 months

It's the same shit being talked about over and over again. We can't even verify if there's been any new blood in the family. No one can even verify that AP is indeed made. But yet all these old timers are still this active? It's just laughable IMO

Damn this punk "Mafia101" is everywhere. Get off your soap box and shove your hypocritical holier-than-thou morals where the sun doesn't shine. Holier than thou? You're mistaken my friend. It may seem like that because unlike you I'm not on here idolizing and glorifying these scumbags at every chance you get. You guys are on here outright supporting their activities and even going as far as advocating for having more mob activity. How fucking backwards can you be. Anytime I mention it you bring up a bunch of Whataboutisms mentioning the government and assuming my stance on that. You act like it's a either or comparison. You can have a interest in the Mafia without drooling over them

When are Burnstein's two docs coming out? Has the release date been set or were they released already? One of them was supposed to be with History Channel, I think (not sure) and the other one was with Gunner whatever his name is. Maybe it was only one. Any word on those? They looked interesting.

Lol is that so how bout you try being neutral instead of crying like a little bitch every time there's even a whisper of someone in the Mafia getting indicted. If you could do that you would never hear me calling you out for being a little fanboy

Mafia101 - who cares if someone is a fanboy? There are fanboys for everything, civil war history, titanic history, US history, there’s tons of true crime forums and podcasts, people also become fanboys over hobby’s like - hot rod cars, collecting baseball cards, hunting, playing softball, whatever your interest are. People here are not running out and signing up to join the mob or commit crimes, they just find the life interesting, intriguing, and yes the heyday was 50-60 years ago but people still like to think there’s a bit of the old families out there and not all gone, and you seem to hate everyone for that. But get your screen name is Mafia101, but you say people shouldn’t root for these people who commit crimes, but you choose that name?
