Amuso is an old guy and after Crea and Madonna was send to jail for sure DeSantis will try to will be the new boss after Vic's death or there are more powerful capos that can try to take the reign? And what is the Lucchese situation? Are still the third family for power?

i would put the lucchese family at 4th in the 5 families pecking order only because of there small geographic footprint and lack of connections to italy/sicily. 1genovese 2gambino 3bonanno-only 3rd because of recent info showing connections to sicily. 4lucchese 5colombo
desantis and dellorusso look to be staunch amuso loyalists along w/ capos joseph desena and anthony barratta. andrew desimone the consigliere was allegedly given the title as a peace offering to the bronx faction. i dont know who would line up behind desimone? capo anthony santorelli?joseph giampa(if still capo?)
admin acting boss michael desantis ub patrick dellorusso cons andrew desimone capo anthony baratta joseph desena anthony santorelli carmine avellino john castellucci john cerella
the above capos are only speculation after some quick research cant see the lucchese having more than 6 no matter who they are.

It would help tremendously if they all had Sicilian factions, because after all the old-school Italian-American gangsters in their ranks die out, who's left?
the slow decline is already happening how long it will take depends on the leadership of these families which for the most part is poor. if we look at the cleveland family being at its height w/ 50-60 memebers in the late 70's early 80's to non existent by the year 2000 even for the lucchese's it could be another 50 years before they reach that stage. ny families have a larger pool of italian pop to choose from, however if u have the choice and r a good earner in that time period the genovese or gambino offer a more lucrative opening into the mafia world. and to also have an unwavering loyalty to an imprisoned boss and his group of allies could eventually for the lucchese, colombos and bonannos lead to internal strife. the bonannos and lucchese have recently dealt with this internally and externally. the colombos seem ill equipped to grasp the changing OC landscape and r doomed to be absorbed by one of the 5 families 1st or once again split into warring factions.
There's really no more new faces anymore, no more hidden people. I remember when quite often new faces would pop up out of nowhere and I was like, "Wow who's that?" But nowadays it's just the same old guys. That's how depleted the ranks are I guess.
The ranks aren't depleted. I swear, people here are utterly clueless lol. They have the numbers but they don't have the right guys anymore. The charts that are floating around here are so off that it's not even funny. I know for a fact that the weakest family the Colombos have at least 40 guys that aren't on these charts

European immigration to the US is at an all time low, accounting for just 11 percent of the roughly 44 million US immigrants.

I get that, but Mafiosi have shown that they don't care about immigration statistics. I think a lot of that has to do with the quality of life being on the upswing in other countries, especially Europe. America isn't seen as the great paradise by many foreigners anymore.

Yep we have recently seen both 'ndrangheta and sicilian mafia members popping up in NYC and Florida.
John Pennisi said that there will be “big changes” in the Lucchese Family after Amuso passes away It is possible that DeSantis could become the official boss after Amuso passes away but it’s important to remember that the only reason why Mikey DeSantis is at the top is because he’s an Amuso loyalist. After Vic passes away it could be difficult for him to hold onto the top spot.

Pennisi has said that the Lucchese Family has a total of seven crews – two in The Bronx, two on Long Island, one in Manhattan, one in New Jersey, and one Brooklyn crew which operates in the Tottenville section of Staten Island. Pennisi also said that Michael DeSantis discussed reinstating an original Brooklyn crew because they had 0 crews directly located in Brooklyn. I haven’t heard of Barrata being a Capo today but I know that John Castelucci won’t be resuming his Capo position once he gets out of prison in 2022 because DeSantis and Dellorusso do not like him and Pennisi has said that Mikey won’t give him his Captain position back once he comes home
The Luccheses have never had many crews, but they also have big crews. There was a time when Dom (Prince Street) had 33 soldiers in his crew. You just don't see that.
Big John is definitely out. I have my theories on who is in charge, but I'm not putting that name out there.

I think that DeSantis has put an Amuso loyalist as the new Capo of Big John’s crew Somebody who he’s close to
I don't really like the words "last don" because there's always going to be another one to come along, hopefully when Amuso passes they're led by someone smarter than he was.
He’s the last boss from the 1980s,He was an old school boss, one of the last of his kind for sure but currently today we have old timers such as Dom Cefalu and Barney Bellomo

DeSantis could possibly take over but if he is indicted then you could possibly see George Zappola or even Frank Papagni become the new boss.

George Zoppola doesn’t wanna be the boss. He’s happy with what’s he’s got...if he’s out by then I could see someone like Ray Aregentina becoming the boss or if the pendulum swings back to the Bronx Andrew Desimone or Joseph Lubrano...

It’s possible that he could have to become the Acting Boss if DeSantis is indicted.I don’t see it going back to the Bronx anytime, the Amuso loyalists seem firm on keeping the leadership within Brooklyn
The problem with these crime families is that they're split into rival factions, which leads to warfare and we all see what that did to the Colombos. They need to strengthen their unity and split the differences.

The term “ rival faction” isnt part of the Genovese Family’s vocabulary.
