My thoughts as well Rocky!! There are many times I don't agree with the academy, but not for this one. TIS

Why isn't Dances With Wolves on this list?
Out of all the films nominated in 1990 (Awakenings, Ghost, Goodfellas and Godfather III) That was by far the worst one.

I always thought that Pulp Fiction was much better than Forrest Gump. Forrest got pretty annoying after awhile! And no, I would not put Terms of Endearment as Best Picture. What else was up that year? And Rocky is a great movie, though not as great as Rocky III, with my personal fav, Mr. T

Kramer, but I wouldn't rank it among the ten worst Best Picture winners of all time. Ditto with Titanic. I prefer a few other films made that year to it, but the film is still excellent, and the backlash against it has caused it to be underrated. I'd have to rank Rocky as the worst Best Picture winner. Nothing about the film rises above a level of utter mediocrity, whether it be the barely competent direction, predicitability of the screenplay (specifically the final outcome), the dull performances, the cliched love story, or the failure to create the feel-good ending the film strived so hard to achieve. I've seen three of the other Best Picture nominees, and they're all much better, especially the masterpieces that are Network and Taxi Driver. The Sting would probably be the second worst, out of what I've seen. Another film designed to entertain, which in its path to achieve that, forgets about the essentials to cinema, and oddly enough, fails at entertaining its audience. Out of what I've seen of the Best Picture nominees, I'd have to say Bergman's Cries and Whispers deserved to win (it's too bad the Academy doesn't recognize foreign films like this anymore). Though a few of the first Best Pictures are supposed to be absolutely horrible (out of all of the winners up until about 1933, with the exceptions of Grand Hotel and All Quiet on the Western Front, none have good critical reputations today).
