I have come across a few lesser known mafia movies that i really enjoyed. They aren't masterpieces but they are nice movies to add to my DVD collection and were entertaining.

I got the Funeral and Mafioso:the Father the Son off of amazon in a 4 DVDs for the price of 3 deal. They both were good movies to watch. Also, at Blockbuster used they had a movie called Wannabes, i got it for 4.99 and i liekd it as well.

Does anyone know of similar movies that u think I would like?

You might like "The Brotherhood," directed by Martin Ritt, starring Kirk Douglas, Alex Cord and Irene Pappas. This 1968 film is about two Sicilian brothers (Douglas and Cord)in America, conflicted between old Mafia and new. It's pretty good. It's regarded as the precursor to GF. Harlan Lebo, in his outstanding "The Godfather Legacy," has a lot to say about how Paramount considered "The Brothrhood" in its decision to support Puzo's work on the GF novel, and to bring it to the screen.

Yes, the Brotherhood is one terrific movie. I think it is more gritty, more expressive of the real nature of the underworld and the consequences of involvement in it.

By the way, if someone knows when "Honor Thy Father" will next be on one of the national cable channels, please post it.

A very good film, with top-notch performances. Really a nice effort for a TV film of that era ('73). But you don't have to wait, Olivant--you can buy it (and two others) very cheap on Amazon:
