It looks like Vin Diesel has been miscast in this role but he did do ok as an Italian-American in Boiler Room and if he can give a decent performance this movie should be alright. Although, playing a rather simple minded but charismatic shady business man somewhat successfully does not mean that you can play a Mafioso. I must admit my ignorance about this trial and much of the inner workings of the Lucchese Family and their history. Well, Michelina Almindo, Casandra Hepburn, Aleksa Palladino and Annabella Sciorra all have parts in the flick, so yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll see it.

Vin Diesel is one of the major problems in today's acting. I feel bad thta he's in Lumet's next film.

I dunno. It is Lumet, and we really haven't gotten to see anything serious with Vin Diesel except in all those crap action movies.

I'm not saying Vin Diesel is absolutley awesome, but still, he's been typecast in the same stiff action hero crap.

Hey, how's it going?

Vin Archibald Diesel was born in New York City and raised in Greenwich Village by his mother Delora Vincent, a psychologist, and stepfather Irving Vincent, a teacher. He has never known his biological father. Diesel is of multiracial descent, usually reported as African-Italian ; however, Diesel has said that his mother is descended from the Sinclairs of Scotland.

All right, you are what you are. It’s your nature. You stay close to me. You don’t do anything. You keep your mouth shut, and your eyes open. And you do what I tell you. Understand?

Domenic Corleone, did you read my post fully? It has a little to do with your ethnic background but not too much. I mean, I'm South Asian-Canadian but people think I'm Middle Eastern (Arab, Iranian etc.), Latino, Afghani, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese etc. whatever. It's the talent. Robert De Niro is Italian-American but he played an Irish-American with ease in Goodfellas. Same in Casino where he played a Jewish man. Johnny Depp played an Italian-American in Donnie Brasco, Al Pacino played a Cuban-American in Scarface and a Puerto Rican-American in Carlito's Way.

Read my post again bro, I'm not exactly rooting against the guy. I plan to see the movie, I just feel that another actor should have been chosen to play this part. Hopefully Diesel proves me wrong.
