I was in Barnes & Noble recently, and not planning on buying anything just looking... but I eventually found the True Crime section and tons of Mafia books. There were too many on the same subject or family and I wasnt sure which were the best ones to choose. So I found myself buying Wiseguys by Nichlas Pleggi.

But what I wanted suggestions on is what books you guys would recommend for the following topics:

Im very interested in the Gambino family and its history, and the infamous Carlo Gambino, what would be a good book on that?

I've heard alot about Goodfellas and Gangsters by Henry Hill, and how it picks up were Wiseguys ended (right?). Is it worth the money and the time?

Im interested in the any books on the Lufthansa Heist, and its aftermath of killings and informants. More how the FBI and there attempts to crack the case and things like that, are there any books with that kind of stuff besides Wiseguys, etc..?

Im also in interested in the Lucchese(sp) family and their history, any recommendations?

Story of John Gotti's life, w/his uprising, the hit on Big Paul, the stuff with DeCicco, etc. There were at least 10 books on Gotti there, which one is the best?

The Mafia Is Not Primarily An Organisation Of Murderers.
First And Foremost,The Mafia Is Made Up Of Thieves.
It Is Driven By Greed And Controlled By Fear.

Between The Law And The Mafia, The Law Is Not The Most To Be Feared
