Usually I would be flipping through some channels and i would always catch the end or middle of this movie, and not until the other day did I see the whole thing. I thought it was an alright movie, compared to the Godfathers, Goodfellas, Casino,.... and so on, its not one of the best Mob movies. Overall I thought the movie was decent and the way they portrayed Lucky Luciano(Christian Slater), Meyer Lansky(Patrick Dempsey), Bugsy Siegel(Richard Grieco), and Frank Costello(Costas Mandylor) was not too bad. My favorite part in this movie had to be towards the end with Mad Dog Coll trying to kill Luciano and ends up being killed himself.

What'd you think of this movie?

"We ran everything. We paid off cops. We paid off lawyers. We paid off judges. Everybody had their hands out. Everything was for the taking." - Goodfellas.

It wasn't horrible. I bought it on DVD. Not the best ever, but not bad.

Worth watching once. Otherwise, pretty average.

This movie is a piece of crap, worst movie ever. Christian Slater as Lucky Luciano? Are you kidding me!? Horrible script, acting, and movie.

The hammiest performance of Anthony Quinn's career. A far cry from some his portrayal of Neil Dellacroce in "Gotti".

An entertaining movie, no doubt. But what bothered me most about it was how the writers strayed so far away from fact and changed so much from what happened in real life.

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

I think it was more about the studio trying to get Christine Slater on the screen with Patrick Dempsey. They were big time young actors at the time so the studio viewed it as a way to make money. They had competition with Millers Crossing and State of Grace at the time, which are both enjoyable Irish gangster flicks.

It was more a work of fiction than true to life. Christian Slater as Lucky left a bit to be desired. The best series about Luciano was The Gangster Chronicals with Michael Nouri as Lucky.

If you're "into" the Mob its worth watching, but only barely so. Its terribly fictionalized and the acting and storyline are weak.

I remember enjoying it. I don't think it was too terrible. C+ maybe. I'd have to see it again for a more accurate rating.

the writers went sooooooooooooooooo FAR! it's like 1% of what happened in reality but still it's a good movie
