Usually I would be flipping through some channels and i would always catch the end or middle of this movie, and not until the other day did I see the whole thing. I thought it was an alright movie, compared to the Godfathers, Goodfellas, Casino,.... and so on, its not one of the best Mob movies. Overall I thought the movie was decent and the way they portrayed Lucky Luciano(Christian Slater), Meyer Lansky(Patrick Dempsey), Bugsy Siegel(Richard Grieco), and Frank Costello(Costas Mandylor) was not too bad. My favorite part in this movie had to be towards the end with Mad Dog Coll trying to kill Luciano and ends up being killed himself.
What'd you think of this movie?
"We ran everything. We paid off cops. We paid off lawyers. We paid off judges. Everybody had their hands out. Everything was for the taking." - Goodfellas.

I think it was more about the studio trying to get Christine Slater on the screen with Patrick Dempsey. They were big time young actors at the time so the studio viewed it as a way to make money. They had competition with Millers Crossing and State of Grace at the time, which are both enjoyable Irish gangster flicks.

I enjoyed the movie... An entertaining movie, no doubt. But what bothered me most about it was how the writers strayed so far away from fact and changed so much from what happened in real life.
Don Cardi 8) the writers went sooooooooooooooooo FAR! it's like 1% of what happened in reality but still it's a good movie
