Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Carlito's Way Ultimate Edition for 20th September 2005 priced at $22.98 SRP. Al Pacino and Sean Penn star in this crime thriller from director Brian De Palma.

So, the reason behind the new SE of Carlito's Way is to rise interest in the straight-to-DVD sequel, which will be released 2 weeks after the original.

I'll still be buying the SE though.
