This movie is less of a mob film, though the actors are known for some past mob films they have starred in.

So has anyone seen HEAT? For anyone who has..I out of not many people I know thought that the whole movie was actually very well done, and I will always favor the bank robbery scene where De Niro directs all the people in the bank...I thought that the scene fitted perfectly. Val Kilmer was great in it, and pretty much everyones performance was satisfactory.

I donno what did you guys think about it...it was made in '95 and could have had alot of improvement..though I still enjoy watching it.

I have the DVD...the acting in it is spectacular, but I don't think the movie is all that great.

Heat is a very underatted film in my opinion, the acting by the 2 legends of hollywood is superb.i feel mann's direction is always great, he is brilliant at getting the feel of l.a right.

A true 'gem' of a movie

Hey, SLICK, that is one of my favorite films. My friends and I still quote that thing!

HEAT SCREENPLAY

Some great Pacino one-liners:

"Cause she's got a great @ss!!!! And you got your head all the way up IT!!!

"You'd get killed ... walkin your doggy!!!

Although it is a good movie, I find it highly ovewrrated on this board. Its your average car chase/bankrobber/cop movie, only this time it has two of the greatest actors starring opposite each other. 6.5/10

Too long and drawn out, and for me somewhat boring.

The only redeeming feature was having both DeNiro and Pacino in the same film together, and Mann ruined that, if I'm not mistaken, by never showing them in the same frame together.

actually there are two times in the movie where they are together. the famous coffee scene, where pacino stops de niro and tells him to follow him to a coffee place. they sit there and have a convo. i think it's about 4 or five minutes of pacino and de niro together. then the ending when pacino kills him. pacino leans down and holds his hand.

They weren't actually in the same scene together. Pacino and DeNiro's schedules conflicted, so they had to do a split screen for those scenes. Pretty sad when you think about it.

That's how i felt too. The movie is way too long....and since the screen-play is so dull, i was bored to death. Could never get involved with the characters.

People tend to overrate Heat cuz of the Pacino/De Niro thing. But they have like ONE scene together. Mann messed up BIG TIME.

Nothing like giving away the ending  I dont know though, both Bob and Al are masters of underplaying the other guy. Maybe a movie with both of them side by side the entire time would be bland and dull.

Seriously. You did give away the ending there. You should tell people of the spoilers.

I'm just messin with ya. Everyone who hasn't seen this shouldn't be reading topics about it. Besides it not that Deniro dies. It's the way he dies that's important.

I just saw heat. There was this comedian last year on comedy central who made an example of people seeing old movies then talking about them, he was like to his friend,"I just saw heat".Then the other guy was like,"That was made eight years ago"
"Well I wunna talk about it"
"No, you loser"
Anyway lol, I saw it a couple days ago and find it ironic. Its an awsome movie, I want to get the dvd.The buildup was kinda slow but its worth waiting for the last half hour.

I just saw it for the first time also. I thought it was done pretty well and the acting was great. I do wish there were more scenes with both Pacino and De Niro but I guess thats what makes the coffee scene and ending scene better. I know it's a pretty popular movie but it still isnt as popular as one would think considering it has both Pacino and De Niro.

I saw this movie some years ago and I can't remember anything (so I presume it didn' strike me so much)!!!! So it is scheduled for an urgent re-watch....Pacino and DeNiro, the greatest living actors, in the same film are worth the effort!
