For every GODFATHER, SCARFACE, GOODFELLAS...there's a turd that stinks up a joint.

For example, while a comedy itself, its pretty damn crappy mediocre movie methinks......yes, Joe Pesci's 8 HEADS IN A DUFFLE BAG.

Man, and I still have a dozen mob comedies up my sleeve...

Mob War any one? How about The Sicilian? I could go on and on naming shitty mob movies. And for the most part, kids movies involving the mob,ie See Spot Run, because the make the wiseguys out to be bumbling fools.

Don sonny I couldn't agree more. even the movie I think it was deuces wild (the one with the hot girl from the Sopranos, chris' girlfriend) was horrible. That might have been considered more "gang" than mob but the one guy had mob connections and he just talked to the guy above him like he was some everyday idiot.......I don't think I've ever seen an in between mafia movie..either they are done right and they are great or done wrong and are horrible.

I nominate two from the Fifties: "I, Mobster" and "Inside the Mafia." The pits!

Love, Honour & Obey was absolutely appalling. Starring Ray Winstone, Jude Law, Sean Pertwee, Sadie Frost, Kathy Burke and others, you'd expect a top-notch London Mob thriller. Instead, it looks like every single scene was improvised (poorly) and the editing is absolute in its shitness. Avoid it, and be happy in life.

may I add MICKEY BLUE EYES as well?

I mean I remember the big press over the fact of James Caan making a gag at his GODFATHER legacy with this movie, but damn this movie is a painful waste of time. I admit I am biased, VERY biased, against the limey that is Hugh Grant, who annoys me to no end. I mean a comedy about a normal guy meeting his future father-in-law gagster is a decent generic formula exercise that under the right actors and filmmakers, it could work. But it didn't with MICKEY. Really, I wanted somebody to whack Hugh Grant for the stupidity he pulls in this movie, but whatever.

I throw this movie into a bon fire I just started, along with a copy of MARRIED TO THE MOB and all these movies mentioned so far in this thread.

Speaking of which, I remember seeing TV ads for some ABC FAMILY made-for-TV flick about a silly teenie-bopper girl who "inherits control of her family's mob activities"...if I had watched it, this could have been the worst mob movie I ever watched, but tsk I missed it!

^^^^ That was called Crimes of Fashion. I thought I'd check it out, because Dominic Chianese was in it, but I lasted about 2 minutes. Thanks for reminding me. I nominate that one.
Another one I saw the first 20 minutes of before channeling was Hoods, with Joe Mantegna and Kevin Pollock. It went nowhere fast.

It Is Driven By Greed And Controlled By Fear.

ya DeNiro....now a good movie about Bugsy Malone is Barry Levinson's BUGSY with Warren Beatty, which was a Best Picture Oscar nominee the same year with SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and JFK.
