I know this isn't a mob movie, but I'm pretty curious anyhow...I read on Imdb that in Taxi Driver, for some of the more "explicit scenes", Jodie Foster's sister, Connie, was used as a double...I was wondering, what exactly are those scenes? I didn't notice any really explicit scenes in the movie at all...

I believe one of them might be the scene were Travis and Iris are in the hotel room and she is down on her knees undoing his pants.

I think another one is where you see her shoulder in the room. There really is nothing too bad.

Wow, a girl coming ever so slightly close to undoing a pair of trousers, how shockingly explicit. How can they get away with such filth?
Yeah I can understand the shoulder bit, after all, when was the last time anyone saw a girl's shoulder revealed in public?

The whole hiring in Connie Foster seems to me a bit over the top...

Yeah but the critics and the MPAA love to pick at these things. Thats proboblly why they did it.

"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

I think I saw on the making of Taxi Driver that her sister was used in the dancing scene with Sport, where he's reciting a Barry White song to her.

"Growing up my dad was like 'You have a great last name, Galifianakis. Galifianakis...begins with a gal...and ends with a kiss...' I'm like that's great dad, can we get it changed to 'Galifianafuck' please?" -- Zach Galifianakis

Jodie Foster was born in 1962 which would have made her 13 or 14 years old when she made Taxi Driver. Even today, I think most people would object to having a 14-year-old girl perform certain scenes in that movie based on what the script called for. Her sister, Connie, was 21 when the movie was filmed.

My understanding of it, (from reading John Baxter's biography of De Niro) is that Jody Foster herself was the one who wanted her sister to do the scenes, as playing such a young whore doing such things so comfortably was hard for her to take.

Moonlighting is when someone works at another job in addition to their full-time job.
