My Blue Heaven Came Out In 1990

Starring Steve Martin(The Jerk) and Rick Moranis(Honey, I Shrunk the Kids)

Trivia:

-Loosely based on the life of Henry Hill, the same man who was the basis of GoodFellas (1990) (qv), after he went into witness protection program.

-Henry Hill was paid a one-time fee of $250,000 for allowing the filmmakers to base this film off his life.

I have seen this film numerous times and even after all these times it's still a great little gem. It is a comedy and there's nothing serious about it. But it's worth catching on TV or renting.

Note:

The "trivia" shocked me. This film obviously is fiction and only one or two details are probably true. But then again Goodfellas was fiction as well, with some real facts incorporated in between. I mean why would they pay Henry Hill unless something was true about it. Unless of course they wanted to cash in on success of Goodfellas by putting on the cover something like "Continuing The True Story Of Henry Hill" or "Henry Hill: Life After Trial". But no serious self respecting Mafia fanatic would fall for that. It's obvious this film is a comedy.

Things, which might be true:

1. Henry Hill became friends with FBI agent hired to protect him.

2. Maybe he did infect introduced him to his wife.

3. Maybe Henry Hill did try to run other "jobs" with other mobsters in the witness protection. But I would think that they would be watched constantly.

In the movie Henry Hill(Name Changed To Vincent 'Vinnie' Antonelli) tried to run away from the FBI agent throughout the film. I don't think this actually happened because Hill came to them in the first place.

A great comedy that I always watch when I'm with my cousins. I can always laugh over and over despite the many times I have viewed the film. I think Steve Martin is great and the story is good.
