the first one was decent. wasn't a great rendition of the book....but decent. it is definetely entertaining. the second one (the last don part II) was significantly worse, though.

I have seen it out on DVD. I own The Last Don 1 & 2. They are both excellent movies. And I think the first series follows the book well.

Dante owned in that movie!
Rory Cochrane's best role.

I didn't read the book but did see the movie. It is good. After GF series of course, it can't compare, but it was a decent movie.

I loved the book The Last Don. I think it's second to none of Mario Puzo's book The Godfather. The book was more modern and had every element, such as humour, love, action, and betrayl to make it an instant classic of sicilian mafia. I have seen only Part II of the mini-series, but I didn't like what I saw. In fact I don't think I want to see Part 1. In fact I was severely dissappointed as I didn't like the actors and they strayed too far from the book imho.

My Mom said she had seen the series when it first came out and she said it was horrible! I really haven't seen it but I still want to.

Well, its been more than "next week" but I finally saw it. I thought it was pretty good. It does not in any way come close to The Godfather, but then again, what movie can? A thumbtack in my wall looks more Sicillian than some of those actors; the casting was a little weak.It follows the book pretty close, but(thank God)it left out the boring Hollywood jibberish. All in all, if you're read the book, I suggest checking out the movie.

8/10

It plays a lot on USA I think, I see it everytime I turn it on.
