Just wondering if any of you have seen/liked this movie. I just watched it again today and I think it was even better the second time. Also if anyone speaks LATIN or has any idea how to translate it to english there are two phrases from the movie that I would like to know the meaning of. "et spiritu sancti" and "veritas aequitas"

I watched it a long time ago when nobody had ever heard of it, and haven't seen it since. It's a very good film, and worth watching. I'd recommend it to anybody who loves to love villianous heroes.

NGE,

et spiriti sancti is Latin for and the holy spirit.

I don't know about veritas aequitas, though, all I know that vanitas is vanity.

yeah i've seen that movie before it's awsome, i have it on dvd, one of my favorites. if you are ever in a movie store and you see the Boondock Saints VHS version it has the meaning of those two words on the back of the box.

I would love to know what it meant, Johnny! Tell me either via PM or posting, please.

Veritas means truth, I believe. Not sure about aequitas, so I can't put the word into context. Sorry ab out the double post; can't quote when editing.

I took 3 years of latin.

Of course I have no idea what the translations are, other than spiritu sancti. I'll check my dictionary.

is this worth buying? I heard mix reviews. Some says it's like Reservoir Dogs

Absolutly worth purchasing, not to mention it is usually only about $10.

I, too, saw this movie back when no one heard about it. It took a while for it to come out on DVD - but I own it now.

Great story, very funny at times. I highly recommend it to anyone on this board.

[/quote]et spiritu sancti i believe is "the holy spirit" i'm pretty sure one part of the speech they give is "in the name of the father, the son, the holy spirit" and then they shoot the people.

I did finally find out the meaning of the two phrases. Johnny Tightlips, you are correct "Et Spirtu Sancti" does meen the holy spirit and "Veritas Aequitas" meens truth justice.
