Saving Private Ryan gets my vote! That opening definitely did for me! (It's not your father's war movie)

If you look closely, you can see the bats bend when they hit them. It spoiled the whole scene for me when I saw this flaw. :p

How about in Backdraft when the newbie gets his mask plate melted to his face?!!

Or just about every scene where someone gets wacked in the Omen movies? Heads get schlopped off, priests get impaled, women get knocked off banisters, people choke, or squashed by train carts. Hell, I even think one guy gets decapitated by a demolition ball.

The fight scene between Christian Slater and Gary Oldman in True Romance is pretty violent, and dont forget the first 10 minutes of From Dusk Till Dawn.

Hey, seriousley, man, when I was a kid and saw that movie for the first time and knew what was coming, I kept out of the room. It is a pretty devestating scene in the mental sense.

Gets pretty brutal toward the end of Beauty and the Beast, if memory serves, as well. :p

The battle scenes in Braveheart and Saving private Ryan I htought were pretty bad and gruesome, but one movie that was really bad was House of 1000 Corpses it's a horror flick but some of the scenes in that movie left me speechless.

when tommy gets wacked in goodfellas was pretty bad, also when vincent shoots the guy in the back of the car in pulp fiction. some of the jail scenes in natural born killers were pretty bad too.

in the movie The Evil Dead in this one scene Ash`s sister stabs one of the people in the heal with a pencil and twists it and everything it was one of those scenes were you just cringe imagining what that would feel like. Not as much violent as it is gruesome.

Also in this one episode of The Shield Vic gets a corpse and props it in a chair and blows the head of with a shotgun, you see the blood, skull fragments, and brain on the wall.

Or the shootouts in 3000 miles to graceland.

Full Metal Jacket is really violent and stuff, Pile`s suicide, Hartman`s death, sniper shooting the 2 guys, and animal mother just blasting away.

Must add Gangs of New York to this list. Watched it this week. The opening battle is not only one of the most violent I've seen, it's also the best I've seen! Bill headbutting Amsterdam isn't exactly the softest violence I've seen, either.

Yes, disturbing scene to watch, made even more uncomfortable by the easy going music! The actually cutting of the ear could have been worse, but it was still bad nonetheless.

You should see the deleted scenes, and it shows not one, but TWO alternative shots of the scene. You can instently tell why they weren't used.

Omar, I'd love to see that scene. I'm guessing it is on the DVD? Too bad I only have it on VHS.

I don't know which is worse to me, if a scene is violent or if it is "disturbing".

I think the most violent scene I have seen in a movie wasn't even in a mob movie, it was in one they show occasionally on "Lifetime" called "The Tracey Thurman Story", a true story about a wife who is beaten for years by her husband while the town's law enforcement does nothing because they are married. The scene where he beats her for the last time and leaves her paralyzed is the most disturbing I've ever seen, it seems to go on forever.

The last 10 minutes of The Wild Bunch, it was nearly rated X because of the violence.
