The scene in Sugartime where they have the guy hog tied in the back seat of the car with the shotgun to his head, and the whole time they are betting on how long he lasts.

Although its not a movie, Dr. Melfi's rape scene. The scene in WIld Things where that one chick gets killed with a champagne bottle was pretty bad i thought. I wasnt really grossed out in casino, but I always cringe during goodfellas when henry beats karen's neighbor in the face with a gun.

I would have to agree with the two "Casino" scenes being really troubling. I remember leaving the theater thinking how disturbing the ending was seeing Pesci & his brother clubbed with the bat and then buried (barely) alive. That vice scene was good too.
Or how about "Untouchables" when DeNiro (as Capone) beat the pulp out of the guy with a baseball bat in front of the entire group?

When I originally saw this thread. I assumed that it was most violent scene in gangster/mafia movies. But going with that, I'd have to agree that any rape scene is kinda hard to watch. Often times because in contrast to a death scene you see the rape victim later on in the film. Where as when the person dies you don't. So I think it kinda has more of an effect on the audience. Once Upon A Time in America was crazy. I saw it on AMC like at 4am until 7am and it was uncut, which suprised me. I bought the Brazilian dvd of it. That movie's gruesome, but great. Also another scene that wasn't mentioned was in Godfather 3 when Vincent stabs that priest in the neck with his own glasses! Now that's gangster!

Black Hawk Down is pretty violent when they are trying to fix that guy's leg, blood is squirting everywhere.

I have thought of another couple...
Even though I have not had the pleasure yet of seeing my most-wanted, I have seen one of the scenes from Chinatown, when Jack NIcholson has his nose slashed.

Oh, and when Mufasa gets trampled by Wilebeasts in The Lion King... So sad, I couldn't watch! :p

I think the beach scene in Private Ryan is probably the most violent I canthink of. Close to it is the horse's head scene in GF, and just aboout all of The Silence Of The Lambs

After watching Goodfellas again last night, I realise that Stacks' killing is the worst (in terms of violence) of the movie, with the camera not going off when the bullet hits him and the blood erupting everywhere. Normally, there is a close up shot and camera trickery to show a cold-murder execution, but this one was rather graphic.

In Pulp Fiction where Bruce Willis slices one redneck with his sword and then stabs him, oh and where Zed gets his balls blown off by Marcellus was pretty violent too.

It's not personal, it's strictly business-Al Pacino/Godfather 1

Some of the aforementioned film/scenes are more gory than violent. Rape is pretty much the ultimate violence as has been atested. Rape and the killing or torture of innocent, defenseless people is the most violent scene to me. In addition to the previously mentioned rape scenes:
Schindler List - the executions and shots from the balcony.
Sopranos - Ralphie beating up the who-wah.
Deer Hunter - the Russian Roulette scene.

I'd have to go with the end scene in Scarface with Pacino. Not only that, but the beating of Nicky Santoro at the end of Casino (where him & his brother get beaten with the baseball bats.) The really horrible thing is that Nicky had to watch his brother get it first!

Any scene with a rape is too violent for me. That I will not watch.
