What Scorsese, De Niro, AND PESCI calloboration do you think is the best? Not just Scorsese and De Niro, but WITH PESCI. Raging Bull... GoodFellas... Or Casino?

Personally, I'd have to go with GoodFellas. It was between that and Raging Bull. I mean, Casino is an AWESOME movie... One of my top favorites. But, if I were to rate it 1-10, it'd get a 9 while GoodFellas and Raging Bull both get 10+. So, it was narrowed down to GoodFellas and Raging Bull... And I had to pick GoodFellas. It was possibly, next to Godfather, the greatest mob movie EVER.

What are your guy's opinions?

This one is really hard My favorite movie is Goodfellas but I went with Casino on this one. Just because I think Pesci had a better role in Casino but thats just my Opinion

Leonard: I dont know. See, I have this condition.
Teddy: Well, I hope its not as serious as his, 'cos this guy's dead.

I haven't seen Casino and Goodfellas in a while, but I can remember just a little bit more from Casino, also I recently found an outdated e-mail from myself to a friend mentioning I liked Casino better. Raging Bull I have not yet seen, shamefully..

so I voted Casino

I picked Goodfellas because to me, that's my favorite Robert De Niro on-screen performance as Jimmy!

I agree with Anthony....Goodfellas is the best mob movie ever after the Godfather and my favourite Robert De Niro movie.

Goodfellas is my favourite, although I think DeNiro was at his best in Raging Bull.

Hi,
I heard that line "Hey Anthony" on last weeks episode of Sopranos. Tony and Ralphie were at the racetrack. Ralphie spotted Tony and yells out "Hey ANTHONY."

Although Goodfella's is one of my all time favorites I voted for Raging Bull. In fact I am quite surprised that Raging Bull did'nt receive more votes. Hopefully that will change as more people vote. Raging Bull is Scosese's Masterpiece and Deniro's best performance to date. It was a shame that Marty did not win the best Director Award. I think it went to the film Ordinary People ( Go figure )Pesci was also great. I beleave he recieved a supporting nomination. We really did not hear from Pesci again until Goodfella's which was 10 years later.

Most people didn't vote for Raging Bull because it isn't a mob flick. This is a mob movie board... I mean, I agree that it's probably De Niro's best performance, and I loved it... but, I, myself, voted for GoodFellas. It's my very favorite movie aside from The Godfather.

I went for GoodFellas. But Raging Bull is a classic, I love that scene between Pesci & Bobby; "You fuck my wife?"

someone earlier this week mentioned Robert DeNiro would have been a better Gotti than Tom Sizemore in his 'own' Witness to the Mob (DeNiro was the producer), and a couple of years ago Joe Pesci was to play Sammy the Bull in a new mob movie.

it's pretty obvious that, in the tradition of mob films Goodfellas and Casino, another Scorsese-DeNiro-Pesci collaboration about John Gotti and Sammy Gravano would be a nice get_together. throw in Nick Pillegi and a supporting, aggresive character for Frank Vincent and we have ourselves another mob picture to like. After the 60's (Goodfellas) and 70's (Casino), Scorsese can then bring up his knowledge of music from the 80's

Wow Pherdy, this thread has been quiet almost a year and you brought it back to life.

Anway, I voted for Goodfellas. However, I have not seen Raging Bull yet.

I buy you out. You don't buy me out.

All three are in my top 10, but I vote for Goodfellas. To love De Niro, I'd watch Raging Bull, but his acting is unbelievable in Goodfellas he makes me laugh: "No, you got a little out of hand yourself" (to Batts).

He is more serious in Casino, but again I'd say he is better in that than in Goodfellas, only because we see him more.

But as the subject indicates the TRIO, and not just Bobby D, I'll say Goodfellas.

Thanks for bumping, Pherdy! What did you vote for all those many months ago?

De Niro as Gotti? Certainly! As good as Sizemore was in WttM? Maybe!

I voted for "Casino." DeNiro & Pesci give unbelievable performances in this film. The Ace Rothstein character is fascinating and a paradox: he's a brilliant gambler but picks the worst possible bride in Ginger. Pesci is such a good actor in both "Casino" & "Goodfellas" that it makes the viewer forget about his smaller physique, instead focusing on his tough-guy persona.
