Two seeming anomalies in "Goodfellas":
1. Tommy, Jimmy and Henry are so certain that Batts is dead after his beating in The Suite, that they wrap him in a sheet, toss him in the trunk of Henry's car, start off to bury him, and allow themselves a long pause to have a meal with Tommy's mother. They appear to be genuinely surprised when, on the way to the burial ground, they hear banging in the trunk: Henry even says, "What the f**k was that?" They have to stop the car, then Tommy stabs Batts repeatedly and Jimmy shoots him. Nasty surprise, and makes for a dramatic moment. BUT: if they were certain he was dead at the suite, and surprised that he was still alive later, why did Tommy earlier borrow that big kitchen knife from his mother? Did Scorsese change the sequence in the final cut?
2. Scorsese is almost as meticulous about details as is Coppola. In the scene where Tommy shoots Stacks, he even makes sure that we see spent cartridges being ejected from Tommy's .45, and hear them clinking on the floor. But later, when Tommy gets his, the treatment is really primitive: Tommy's "head wound" and "blood" look as if someone drew them on the negative with a colored pen. Why?

Hmm, DeSimone was crazy maybe he REALLY did think he had to hack off a deer hoof.

1. MAYBE they planned to cut him up at the burial site. When they later dug him up they found: arms, legs, hearts..."Here's a wing!"

2. STax murder was a proven fact, DeSimoen's murder was speculated, and not much is known, th ebody was never found. Scorsese wouldn't want DeSimone to pop up after the movie and say that nevr happened, or whatever.

ALSO, in Wiseguys..when henry pulls over to finish off Batts, DeSimone finishes him off with the shovel, not gun and knife.

But this scene with stills and slow-motion of DeNiro's shots with the explosion of light is an AWESOME Effect.

Goodfellas Question...WHen Karen goes to meet Conway near the end when Henry is in jail, he makes her walk down th street to pick upa dress. What is the significance of that? was he going to have her whacked? What were the men doing there? What made Karen turn awy and leave?

I think Karen was going to get whacked too. As she got nearer the shop you could see her getting more and more scared and anxious, she realised if she went in the shop she'd get whacked. When she looks up to Jimmy at the top of the street and shouts something about not having time to look and she'd look later, and jumps in her car, his face says it all what an evil look like he's really peed off with her for cottoning on!

For those of you not familair with IMDB

http://us.imdb.com/Goofs?0099685

http://us.imdb.com/Trivia?0099685

http://us.imdb.com/AlternateVersions?0099685

Anyway, we're looking for Plot Holes in Story NOT Goofs in Filming.

HOW would Jimmy have whacke Karen, were the men expecting Karen? Karen came to Jimmy on her own.

If Oggie says it, it MUST be true.

The men were probably expecting Karen and would have disposed of her in the shop (smothered her with a dress ) Jimmy would have been aware Karen was going to turn up at some point he wasn't stupid. They were all probably playing a waiting game

Also, that scene was very ominous. The street was completely empty, except for Jimmy and his guys. And the only businesses that seemed to be open were his swag operations. Small wonder Karen was fearful. And anyone who wears a leather skirt while driving a Volvo sedan can't be totally legit.

just because she was feeling that way doesn't mean they were going to whack her. Like Ricardo says...they weren't sitting there all day waiting for her to come down to whack her....Just another drug addict feeling off base.

The reason he asked what the noise was is that henry atleast the movie's henry wasn't real used to that kind of thing.

i don't think it would go that far compare . another one of his reason to whack them is to avoid the heat that he is the mastermind . . .
