This poll is pathetic!!

WHERE IS SCARFACE ???????????????????????

I can't believe you put Bella Mafia on the list and not scarface, which is the best movie ever.

And also, where is Carlito's way ? it also beats a few of the films you mentioned.

I voted for The Last Don. Although it was close between The Last Don, Casino, and The Untouchables.

Welcome, Paul Vitti! Ricardo, I'm sure your "other" option covers Scarface in your mind and mine, but, brother, you're gonna get in some hot water for not listing it by name (as our comrade Fame has so eloquently pointed out)!

Was 'Analyze This' on the list? That was good. Also didn't Stallone have a hit mafia movie - (Oscar or something like that)?

I voted for Goodfellas, although I have many favorite Mob movies. One of my other favorites would have to be Analyze This! that's movie was good. I also just saw Trial By Jury, that was a good movie too. Gotti was a great mob movie.

MAFIA! I don't remember Him be referred to as Don Mantagna!

MAFIA! READ! Sorry, I forgot Analyze This, that's Other. Other could also include Scarface (1932), Public Enemy, whatever you want. I had this great idea and then memory lapsed at movies (Hence Bella Mafia)

I voted for Donnie Brasco, I was actually pretty surprised there wasn't more votes for it.

Don Mantagna ?? Are you trying to say Don Montana ?
If that's what you meant,Tony Montana was not a Don,but you don't need a Don in a movie to relate it to Mafia.Scarface is known as a Gangster type of movie or "The movie that made a project on the word "Fuck" "
But even so,Mafia is very much related in Scarface

Why goodfellas is a mafia movie ? was De Niro a Don? Ray Liota a Don?
Same for Casino- De Niro a Don ? Peschi?
And if other actors were Dons,is that a Mafia movie?

Also, something very important - if you don't know-a Don is not always on top of a Mafia family.
Don is a word of respect, and there are many Dons in the world who are not on top of a Mafia family.

\But it's a Cuban DrugCartel, NOT a Mafia.

Paulie was a Capo of teh Luchese Family, Jimmy and Henry were associates, Tommy was almost MADE< and besides the sub-title is 30 years in A MAFIA Family!

Casino is Mafia because Santorro was a Made Man who went against the Boss and got killed for it!

And Besdiers they were Ityalian/Jew actors, unlike Scarface's Hispanic.
What the HELL doe sScarface have to do with the Mafia?

I'm NOT rernaming the Post favorite NON-GF/NON-Scarface Mob movies! I exlcuded Scarface on purpose!

Why are you getting angry ??
We are only discussing an issue in the forum.I discuss things with my best friends.
I consider you a friend,Ricardo.

Back to the topic - before I'll give examples like you did ,how scarface is related to Mafia (and there are lots of examples),can you tell me what is your definition of the word "Mafia" in your mind.

I would have liked to see Things to do in Denver when your dead. I love that film. Thats a pretty poor selection of films to choose from. Even Mean Streets should be there.

Sorry, Mean Streets was before my time.

I didn't know Things in Denver was Mafia?

Ok, I know Fame is going to come back and stick me with the TRUE definition of Mafia (There ISN"T one :p ), when I say Mafia, I mean Family/Cosca/Crew/Clan/Regime of Italian/Jewish/Irish Gangsters in the world of Organized Crime otherwise known as the Mob, whom are up above the street-level crap like DEALING drugs.

Scarface is A) Cuban, B) It's about DRUGS, not the Mafia! C) ... do I need a C?

Wow, and Godfather wasn't?

Seriously though, you a huge Godfather fan - fair do's, I respect you for that. But this film was only released the year following the Godfather. i recommend you check it out. I bought it and found it to be a great film but the VHS version is terrible. i'm not sure if there is a DVD copy and if there is I hope for it to be good quality.

Prizzis Honor - a black comedy with Jack Nicolson

Valachi Papers - old Charles Bronson film - not great filmmaking but important for historical reasons as Joe Valachi was one of the first guys to break omerata.

Scarface (Pacino's version)

New Jack City - hey if scarface is there include this

Mean Streets - I never liked it that much, as it looks like a precursor to the great Goodfellas. I might have liked it if I had seen it before Goodfellas.

No kiddin! Casino has to be one of the most underated movies ever! Just because it was similar to Goodfellas in a few ways the critics think it isnt as good.
It really makes me mad.

I buy you out. You don't buy me out.

1. Goodfellas
2. Casino
3. Donnie Brasco
4. A Bronx Tale

NEITHER New Jack City OR Scarface COUNTS!!!

Sorry abotu Mean Streets (Click Other!)

Bronx Tale IS FICTIONAL!

Casino is like Goodfellas becasue TWO Lead Males (Pesci/DeNiro)are the same, and a minor male is the same (Billy Batts/Frank Marino) Same AUTHOR: Nick Pileggi, Same Time Period (1970-80's), different setting, different Mob (They STILL think it's too similar, maybe because Pesci says F 100+ times in each one!)
