Has anybody seen The Untouchables? I think it's a strange movie--more of a Western, but I liked it a lot.

Have only seen it once but I remember it had one big flaw in it: Kevin Costner in the leading role. I LOVE Robert DeNiro so with that alone plus the story, it had to have had some redeeming qualities. Might have to review that one again.....

More Robert Deniro would of been great, and also Sean Connery was excellent.

Yep, but Kevin Costner did a poor job.

Andy Garcia was my favorite!

It wasn't really his genre. I prefered Coster in JFK (1992) and Thirteen Days (2000)

The only thing I liked him in was Dances With Wolves. His whiny voice was most annoying when he was narrating but he didnt need to speak too much more in that movie. Overall, I liked it.

The Untouchables was not a particularly entertainting film and it's a stretch to call it in the gangster genre. Kevin Costner could well be the worst actor I've ever seen. Not even De Niro was capable of saving this joke of a film.

Costner is a fine actor, just not fine for The Untouchables. He was great in Thirteen Days.

You really thought the movie was bad?
Maybe Costner did not do his best, but you didnt think Connery,Garcia, and Deniro did a good job?
And dont forget the guy with the glasses.

Connery, Garcia and De Niro did not do a bad jod, however, the storyline, direction, musical score and Costner's acting were awful.

I disliked the way that the film depicted Robert Deniro as Al Capone whacking that guy with a baseball bat. Tony Accardo was the one who allegedly did that. I think they were taking liberties to put it politely.

Wasn't Accardo's nickname "Joe Batters?"

I'm going to have to disagree. I did not like thirteen days at all. JFK wasn't bad.

If you're talking about the scene at the banquet, it was Capone (in real life) who wielded the bat against Anselmi and Scalise, two of his gunmen whom he thought was plotting against him.

Scalise & Anselmi,
baseball bat victims of Al Capone

Scuzi for my previous inaccuracy. I am now standing corrected by the man SC. Grazie consigliere. Forgive me. But please, be merciful with your infamous pun-ishment.
