The Sicilian is excellent. It has a perfect blend of history and story-it's informative and entertaining.

"I never wanted this for you. I work my whole life--I don't apologize--to take care of my family, and I refused to be a fool, dancing on the string held by all those bigshots. I don't apologize--that's my life--but I thought that, that when it was your time, that you would be the one to hold the string. Senator Corleone; Governor Corleone."
-Don Vito Corleone to his son, Michael

Trust me, it is 1000 times better than GFR. If you get the chance, you should definately read the Sicilian.

The movie is not good

The Mafia Is Not Primarily An Organisation Of Murderers.
First And Foremost,The Mafia Is Made Up Of Thieves.
It Is Driven By Greed And Controlled By Fear.

Between The Law And The Mafia, The Law Is Not The Most To Be Feared

"What if the Mafia were not an organization but a widespread Sicilian attitude of hostility towards the law?"

I own both the book & the movie. That movie is one one the worst movies i have ever seen. The editing is so so bad, and so is the acting. I do like the book, but after reading about the real life Guiliano, i must say that both the book and the movie has been romantisised (cant spell) too much. Turi Guiliano were absolutly no hero. He' was a traidor to he's people and he's country. The part were he were shooting the people at the coomunist meeting, that was in real life Guiliano's own choice to kill them. He was a mean man, who wanted fame and money. He has been what i call, Robin hood'ed...

But a good advise is. Read the book, keep away from the movie

Best Mario Puzo book I have ever read. I read it in like 1 week. I was so addicted to it. It's ausome because Guiliano and Pisciotta were complete opposites. It is full of great story, it's even better than The Last Don and Omerta combined. I haven't watched the Sicilian movie, I never even knew there was one.

I may have a bad reputation but I don't have a bad gun.
