Question: Is it really worth buying the whole DVD triology. I mean, cause I see everyone just talking about the first 2 movies which I have just recently seen and loved them. But I heard the 3rd one is not that good. So what should I do? Buy the whole trilogy on DVD. Or just Buy the first 2, and rent the 3rd movie??

Thanks

buy the trilogy. If I'm not mistaken its cheaper for the trilogy but even that aside- its a Saturday afternoon and you want to watch Godfather, I for one can not just watch the first 2, I enjoy seeing how the WHOLE TRILOGY ends.

Just something to think about.

Buy the trilogy the first two movies raised expectations. Part 3 is a good movie but parts 1 and 2 are some of the GREATEST films ever made and besides i dont think that any of the movies sold individually include the special features.

Yes, it's worth it for the "extras" disc that has deleted scenes and lots of other good stuff.

The movies, in thier theatrical version(execpt Part 3 added 1 or 2 lines rolleyes )are available in the box set. All, or soon to be all, are now also availanble on single title DVD. The Epic or the Saga ( the ones edited chronilogically) arent on DVD.....yet.

Try looking in the box set section at Best Buy. Sometimes they stick it over there.

Maybe you ought open and use your brain by asking the employees where the dvd set is. Thats why stores have employees to help people find things. orange

I got mine at Amazon.com, they have links to sellers with different versions, such as the Asian version which I believe doesn't contain the bonus DVD. I think I paid about 40 bucks for mine. (I got the full set, with bonus DVD)

Hey, Santino, why do you have to be so hostile towards a fellow board member? Especially a new board member! There is absolutely no reason for such hostilities! You should be looking to help a person instead of humiliating them! I think your brains gone sour from all that comedy that you've been playing with that young girl! mad

It seems to be a curse to have Sonny's name in your screen name, because anytime you fuck up, ever, there are hords of people willing to jump in at you with quotes from the movie. Watch, this will probably get some form of quote harrassment. grin

Whoa Santino Jr. control the anger. Remember Mikey says that your anger clouds your judgement.

But as to whether buying the DVD trilogy is worth it,yes indeed. Hopefully you are not the type of people to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Even though III pales in comparison to I,and II it is beautifully photographed and the most important character, Michael is in attendance being his glorious self. Plus there is always that Cuban eyecandy Andy Garcia! blush

I'm not sure why GFIII does not get the respect it deserves; it obviously is not as good as GFI and GFII (those are hard acts to follow) but on it's own is an excellent movie. Pacino is at his best - look at his scene where he's having his first diabetic seizure ...

MICHAEL
Thunder can't hurt! Harmless noise! Bullshit! Deceitful little f**k! Altobello! You f**k!

<Michael gets up and tries to walk, held by Vincent and Al Neri. He staggers and then doubles over.>

MICHAEL (screaming)
Fredo! Fredo!

THAT IS GOOD STUFF ... and the scene where Mary is killed on the opera steps. Pacino at his best.

GFI is about corruption in the law -
GFII is about corruption in politics -
GFIII (fittingly) is about corruption in the church.

I bought my DVD collection from FFC winery ...

Does anyone know when Part II is coming out on DVD (or if it already did)? I couldn't find it on Amazon, so I'm assuming it's not out yet. But it's been like over a year since Part I came out, right? So anyone know if there are plans for it?

Pantangelli,

It is definitely worth buying the DVD Trilogy. A must for all GF fans. While it's true that we all agree GFIII doesn't compare to the first two, doesn't mean it isn't good. It wouldn't be complete without having the entire story. Plus, there are so many extras included. Well worth it IMHO. smile
