I know exactly what you mean, SB. Every time I read his old posts its a good trip down Memory Lane but I feel sort of empty at the same time.

I remember a good, kindhearted man who was very passionate about his views. God Bless him.

My dad's been watching the Sopranos on A&E lately, so I've caught a few episodes. I'm ashamed to admit I never used to watch it - at first was too young, and later had missed too much. But now, I especially like the Paulie Walnuts character, and I think it's because seeing him makes me immediately think of our good friend Plaw.

I remember at one of the BB Coventions when I introduced him to my wife and daughter. He was so happy for me. He talked to me about my family. How I should always love them. I will always remember that.

It is amazing how someone you've never met in real life, would make such a great impression on you. I remember he always argued that internet communities aren't any less real than life out there.

I know he wouldn't have liked these sort of mushy comments, but I miss him. I really do! *Sigh*

He - (Simón Bolívar) - was shaken by the overwhelming revelation that the headlong race between his misfortunes and his dreams was at that moment reaching the finishing line. The rest was darkness. "Damn it," He sighed. "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!"

So what’s the labyrinth?

That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?

Does anyone remember the Christmas Carol that Plawrence put on the boards with all of our names mixed in it? i was thinking about it the other day and started to laugh! He was a very smart person.

I went to the hospital to visit him this time of year, just before he died. I miss him so much.

I corresponded with Steven, his son, a few months ago. He's doing well, and in college now (now in his 2nd year).

SC, thanks for letting us know. Since I have a daughter about the same age, I often wonder how Steven is doing.

It's hard to believe that we are coming upon two years since the passing of our friend Plawrence. It seems that no matter how much time goes by, everytime I log onto this site I expect to see a post from him on the boards!

How I wish he were around just to witness and debate what will be probably the most historic Presidential election in the history of this country. How I wish he were around just to talk to and hang out with once again.

These boards have NEVER been the same since his passing.

I sincerely miss our friend. frown

Two years ago today.

I can't believe it's been that long; it seems like yesterday.

I miss his calls, his company, his friendship.

I haven't wanted to face this fact. I've sort of been avoiding it. I miss him every day - his wit, his wisdom, his charm, and his completely obstinate nature. He could be more stubborn than a mule, especially if you disagreed with him. He loved to try to sway you around to his POV, if it took hours. Nothing made him happier than to sink his teeth into a good debate.

I miss you so much, my prince.

I think of him escecially with two of our active threads right now. I just know he'd be all "logical" and make all kinds of sense while discussing the OJ verdict. Can you just hear him? lol No what I mean???

Oh, and the political threads????? I so admired how he knew his stuff and could put it in words so eloquently. I'm so glad to have known him. cry

Hehe, I can actually see that. He had an amazing persuasive ability, never arose to aggression but loved his debates.

The guy was incredible and two years on it still shows how much impact he had on us - especially those of us that never actually knew of him in person. I remember when I first heard the news, it took me months and months before I could join in this thread. I didn't know how to feel or what to say. But now I'm just glad that I got to know at least a wee part of his life. He's a legend.

Turi, Of all the posts written here, I have to say that yours is the first in a long time that made me cry. That's only another testament to how loved Paul was, I guess.

I didn't remember this til you just posted, but a couple years ago, Paul was pinpointing me to an exact birthdate because we evidently were so close in age and born the same year. I told him mine was August. I think he was happy to annoint me as the oldest. lol I do miss him even still. He was always forthright and honest, whether you agreed with him or not.

Happy Birthday PLaw.

I miss my Paul all the time. I often find myself reading a book that he might like, or eating at a restaurant he would enjoy, and thinking that I have to tell him about it.

True friends like him, the ones that always have your back, are so rare and difficult to find. They truly are gems, and Paul was one of the most precious.

Yeah, it's always around this time of year I especially think of our friend Plaw. Because a long-ass season of fantasy baseball is about to start. And his birthday. wink

Hey TIS...I was going to school in Los Angeles. Graduated in 2007, so I'm back in the working world, still out here in L.A.

Popped in GF2 the other day and it reminded me of this message board, so I thought I'd come by and see who was still around from the old days.

Hey, DC.

Tonight's the beginning of baseball season. One of Paul's favorite times of the year. It brings smiles, and some tears, at this time of year knowing Paul's not hear to give his Fantasy BB predictions.

I'm sure he still picks himself as #1 in that big Fantasy Baseball roster in the sky.
