I have a nice leather jacket that looks too flashy for my day to day routine I think.

What are various things I can do to it to get rid of it's ridiculous shine, getting it that average, leather look? The shine looks like this.

I want to get it like this.

Can't do it, Silly.

Either get a new jacket, or, be happy with what you've got?

Sorry, but I don't know of any way to make the first one look like the second one... but if you wear it well, then I wouldn't worry about it to begin with. But if you don't, then just stop wearing it. Try denim -- or a team jacket.

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Why don't you just dab all over with a wet towel & beat it against a big rock? Isn't that the way people used to 'age' leather?

Of course, it's a shame to ruin the jacket on purpose...but if you bought or got it that way & want to get rid of the 'ridiculous' shine...

Good luck, post another photo when you've completed the job.

Metro? The leather isn't soaked in special sacred oils with a touch of aloe vera. It's also not that I wanna ruin the jacket, it's that there is absolutely no situation in my life where it is appropriate. It's way too flashy. If it had a duller shine to it, it would be different.

As for ruining the shine, send it to me. I'll kick the shit out of it, oops, I mean shine.

I'm not Don Ferro.

And I didn't buy the jacket.

And the problem is solved now. *insert random gesture of winning*

Ask a cleaner that specializes in leather. You should be able to find one or two in the Yellow Pages.
