He may be hot-headed, he may be opinionated, but like his namesake, our Don Cardi has a heart as big as his....well, as big as...hmmmmm....as large as his love for The Godfather Trilogy!!

It has been my pleasure getting to know you, DC. You are a true gentleman and a good friend. If not for the keen eye of xxx, your 9,000th post almost slipped by me!! Congrats!! I look forward to many, many more!!

Un bacione!!

By definition, don is a title of respect and esteem, not just the name of a mafia leader.

Cardi is a variant of the prefix cardio, which we all know stands for heart.

His name says it all...Don Cardi...a man of respect and esteem...who wears his heart on his sleeve.

Congrats on hitting 9000, my friend. I look forward to many more to come.

I look forward to the day we finally get to meet. Salut!

What can I say about the Santino of the GBB. You might have a temper but, you have a heart of gold and you are a great man. It has been a pleasure of mine having you as a friend for the past couple of years. You are always there for me when I need a cyber shoulder and I will always be greatful. Looking forward to reading another 9k of your thoughts and views and reading more of your GF skits and Tony Montana impressions. Congrats Santino

Don Cardi

As Vito Corleone stated, "A man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man." It's quite obvious how passionate you are and how much you value your family and their well-being. Those feelings carry forward at the foundation of nearly all of your posts. Your heart is always in the right place.

Keep 'em coming.

CUT TO: On top of an American building. A 9k cake for Don Cardione is wheeled toward him and a small group of GBBers. The cake has the American flag on it.

DON CARDIONE

I hope my post number is correct -- I'm always accurate about my post number. Make sure that everyone sees the cake before we cut it. I'm very pleased you were all able to come from such distances to be with me today. When a man comes to this point in his life -- he wants to turn over the things that he's been blessed with -- turn them over to friends. As a reward for the friends he's had -- and to make sure everything goes well after he's gone.

PLAW

Not for years.

EVERYONE

Hear! Hear!

DON CARDIONE

Well, we'll see; the libs would disagree, but what do they know? These are wonderful things that we've achieved in Phili -- and there's no limit to where we can go from here. This kind of forum knows how to help business...to encourage it -- the threads here are bigger and swankier than any of the rug joints we've seen in Cyberspace --

[ FRANCO brings over a piece of cake but DON CARDIONE rejects it.]

Bigger piece.

(then, to the GBBers)

You all know TIS-- and we all remember her family. At the time of my retirement -- or death -- I turn over all my interests in the BLUE-DRINKS operation --

TIS (to FRANCO)

Grazie

DON CARDIONE

-- to her control. But -- all of you will share. My Wall of Gangster Pictures will go to SC. My Godfather dress shirts will go to the DMC boy. My Scarface dress shirt to the Malta Family. And most important, my beloved GF Bobbleheads to Don Smitty. And we've saved a piece for some friends in Nevada, to make sure things go smooth back home. I want all of you to enjoy your cake -- so, enjoy.

GBBERS

Happy 9k!

DC, since you're the one with all the funny "cut-to" scenes, I thought I'll try one to honor this occasion. I know its not up to your standards, yours are much funnier, but I tried

Don Cardione, I'm gonna end this post now, because I know you are busy.

Hooray! 9K for my bestest moderator buddy Don Cardi!

Now just think, how many of those posts wouldn't exist if we had less liberal members here on the board...we might be giving him congrats on his 1000th post...

What can I possibly say that hasn't already been said before, and might I add, probably much more eloquently than anything I'd've been able to say myself.

There, 27 words and I didn't say anything!

Thanks for being a good friend and for helping out around here! I always enjoy our get-togethers, and look forward to seeing you again soon!

PS - Great job, Fame!!

I can't say enough good things about my friend, DC. A thoughtful and intelligent poster. A true scholar of the mob. A fair-minded, considerate and principled moderator. A generous, warm-hearted and considerate individual whom anyone--starting with me--would be proud to call a friend.

Congrats, DC--you're the tops!

What more can I add to what has already been said? Congratulations to a guy who's been nothing less than kind and respectful to me even in politcal disagreements. He makes it so easy to give back.

Thanks DC! Btw, the "BB's Santino" is the "perfect" name for you.

Thanks to ALL of you who took the time to extend these congratulations to me.

Sicilian Babe - Now tell me, where did I get my famous sicilian temper from? And that big heart just like you have? Same place you did? I may be the Santino of the boards, but you are definitely the Costanzia of the gangsterbb, so maybe they should fear you! Thanks Sis!

De Niro - Thank you very much. I've always liked your posts.

Klydon - In such a short time you've managed to gain the respect of many members here and I've really grown to enjoy your posts.

xXx DC xXx - You pain in the ass! :p Here I thought that I slipped by without anyone noticing that I had reached and surpassed my 9000th post, and you had to bring it up! Someday my friend, we will finally meet and we'll discuss Jack Bauer over a couple of drinks!

Mama Mig - What can I say that already hasn't been said. You are a really good friend and I thank you for always being you! Oh, and you're a Great MAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

DMC- You've also been a loyal friend and confidant. Whatever you do, just keep listening to what I tell you and forget all the stuff that Geoff's been teaching you. You're a great guy DMC.

Goombah - Well it takes a man of values to notice those same kind of traits in others. Thank you for your sincere words. I appreciate it.

Fame - Great job! Don't sell yourself short. Someday, and that day may never come, I may call upon you to take over the "cut to" scenes posts. But until that day I'll consider this a gift from my Godfather.

DoubleJ - What am I going to do with you? Just when I think I've pulled you out of posting those arrogant cartoons, you go right back in! Your a smart man JJ, and it's nice to see the younger men such as yourself retain the passion and love that you seem to have for politics. Now keep up the educated and factual posts - MINUS those cartoons!

Signor Vitelli - One of the finest gentleman that I've had the pleasure of meeting in a very long time. In the short time that I've known you I've learned what a well informed and fun guy you really are. Thank you my friend.

Don Malta - Mio Padrino. It's been an honor and a pleasure to be a member of your boards. When a man such as yourself does such a great job providing a fun place like this, how could one not want to help you out? It's my honor to help you with these boards. ( Now who's gonna moderate me?)

Turnbull - A Man's Man. A real mensch! I always look forward to reading your fantastic posts, and it is I who am honored to have you as a friend. ( oh, the old man at the wedding? That's Nazorine's father, just in case you didn't know.) LOL!

AFS - My world politics debator and educator. I know that when you and I get involved in a discussion about the world, I can always depend on you to tell it like it is and at the same time educate me in the things that I may not know about your culture. But what I admire most about you is the fact that you remain resilient and at the same time know when to gracefully bow out. I have a lot of respect for you Afs!

TIS- What can one say about a someone who always presents herself as a lady, be it in person, on the boards or in discussions? I am sincerely glad that I have been able to be in your presence a few times over the last 2 years. Your a good Godmother.

Don Sicilia - Don Sicilia, Don Sicilia. What have I ever done to make you Respect me this way? I really hope that we can meet up again someday. You are a true gentleman.

Just Me- A fellow Al Pacino fan. Of course you reasons for liking Pacino will never conflict with my reasons! LOL! Thanks for taking the time to congratulate me.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL!

Double J, what's the hurry? Take it easy... DC is one of the few people well worthy of all these kind words, and much more! Besides, I haven't gotten my chance yet, so here it is: Congrats, DC! Here's to many more. Cheers!
