You call Mexican Gulf merely Gulf, so that must be funny to you. Although I don't think they should've banned the magazine, I think they should've asked them to make corrections in their next issue. It's been and it will be always Persian Gulf, and personally I make sure I do whatever I can to keep the historical name alive. Government did ban National Geographic for calling "Persian Gulf" also "Arabian Gulf", but many Iranians inside and outside the country made more influential campaigns, which ultimately made National Geographic to apologize and to make corrections.

I think it's a little ridiculous to try to rename the Persian Gulf the Arabian Gulf, and I think it's a lot rediculous that, on failing at renaming it, to just drop the Persian altogether.
