Neo-Nazis threaten to massacre Muslims at World Cup

ROME (AFP) - The World Cup in Germany is set to become a battleground between facists and Muslims, an Italian member of a new European neo-Nazi movement warned.

In a statement published by Italian daily Repubblica, the memeber of AS Roma's notorious ultras hooligan group claims neo-Nazis across Europe met in Braunau in Austria to plan attacks against supporters from Islamic countries during the World Cup in Germany from June 9 to July 9.

"We are united. For the first time we are talking and planning together, with the English, the Germans, the Dutch, the Spanish, everyone with the same objective. At the World Cup there will be a massacre," said the Italian ultra.

"We will all be in Germany and there will be Turks, Algerians and Tunisians. The Turks, we can't stand them. In our country (Italy) there are not many, but in Germany, there are many of those guys there. They are Islamic terrorists.

"We will attack them. They are all enemies that need to be eliminated, just like the police. If we make the Roman greeting (the fascist salute) they put us in prison. We will be tens of thousands. Nothing but the English are feared."

That's fucked up. Thing about neo Nazis though, they don't realize that they will never ever, legitimately or by any means at all, gain power in any Western democratic country. They are hated by the right and the left and every one in between. Still, these morons actually believe that one day people will come to respect and appreciate their beliefs and eventually adopt them. They take themselves seriously and this is why they are potentially dangerous. Luckily however, they are the most inorganized bunch of nimrods (in any country) you'll ever come across. Yes they are idiots but unfortuneately they still exist and especially in the world of football fans.
Italy have had a lot of trouble recently with their fans & England,Germany & Holland will be hoping their fans do not get involved in any violence that could taint a great sporting occasion like the World Cup!
I'm sure all the relevant authorities will be on red alert for any trouble.
They should be cos they have had plenty of warning!

I would be very surprised to hear that anything came out of this other than a few isolated fights, assaults, and vandalism.

Well just a few weeks ago some Middlesborough fans were killed in Roma for a football clash. Though I don't think it'll be as bad as the Neo Nazi's reckon mainly down to the policing.

Soccer policing has become pretty good in just a few recent years. The last European Championship in Portugal went off very well, English fans may have done their reputation a lot of good. I think the Government and police force in Germany will do just as well.

Uhm, you can forget England, Iran, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the USA, and Mexico. They won't win.

E.S. you are most probably right and the strongest of those 7 teams are: England, Mexico, Poland and The U.S.A and most likely none of these countries will win The Tourney. However these 4 teams are usually dangerous and unpredictable and could be a part of some major upsets. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Yeah, you're right. I just remembered the USA reached the quarter finals in 2002, so who knows, they maybe surprise again. Altough the only players I know of them are Donovan, Guchi Onyewu, and Freddy Adu.
