He's only 250...
That's really a good day for humanity.

Afi, do you have any possibility to watch the 24 hours Mozart marathon from Europe? I'm watching now the broadcast of the Feast Concert with Muti.

I wish, the LNB toward the hotbird got screwed yet again. Just typical. Anyhow, this is Mozart's year, so we'll be seeing a lot of his works this year.

Oh, and happy birthday Wolfie.

I love this fella. Had something to do with music, no?

Only 250, huh? Not bad... not bad at all for Afs; given her preference for much older men.

Happy birthday, Wolfgang. I still say that, "The Barber of Sevile" is the high point of operatic theater.

No matter what age, he is the definition of man. He can play me like he does his Klavier any day he wants.

I want to learn to play something of his music. What are the most beautiful things he ever wrote?

JM should be able to help out, but from what I've tried to play if you are a beginner he is hard to play. I've been practicing the Facile Sonata k. 545 for a few weeks now and while I've made some progress it hasn't been that easy. And he apparently wrote this for beginners, God help us how it would've turned out if it was for pros.

But I think 'Sonata Alla Turca K331' is slow and very beautiful if you'd like to try.

I already did little pieces of 'Don Giovanni', and 'Die kleine Nachtmusik'.

Wasn't hard at all, but maybe I played a simplified version of it.

I'll try to find the titels you mentioned Afsanef.

Well, that's good enough to be able to play just anything. How long have you been practicing? See, I've just begun this year and frankly I stink.

What's wrong with being an online tutor JM?

Really soon it should become another thing in a row - in the spirit of age. Virtual talk, virtual sex, virtual education...

None of the above, it is in Angel's years, which is pretty young compared to what he has brought us being crème de la crème of all messages. :p

JM, I'll settle for a virtual tutor if you accept the honor.

Actually, I always enjoy surprising people when I can identify a Mozart piece playing overhead in a restaurant or some similar type of atmosphere. I have many of his symphonies both on cd AND LP form...since I've been a fan of the man for a good 20 years.

I'm not sure he's enjoying a particularly happy birthday, though....

JM, I saw The New World the other day; in it, (director) Malick uses Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23. It's beautiful. But there's another piece, a lengthy prelude from Wagner's Das Rheingold, which steals the film; it is spellbinding.

I'm well before my time. I think I'm going to be appreciated more when I'm dead too.
