This question has been asked before and I think each time I put a different answer for part II;

I also like the complilation of death scenes of the 5 families, but my all time FAVORITE scene is the look Michael gives to Appolonia when he first sees her....am I the only one who melts?
In part II, I like when Michael talks to senator Geary...he's like such a wise guy.

In part 1 when the door is closing on Kay, and we see Clemenza kissing Michael's hand. This scene is symbolic of the end of an era, and Vito's men finally accepting Mike as heir. I am also partial to the scene with Carlo at the end, and the killing of the five heads. All of these incredible scenes share the common theme of Mike proving himself, and lay the foundation for the next films.

Pretty much every scene involving Michael. What a classic performance by Al Pacino.

I like a lot more parts but Al's ones just stand out over most other great scenes.

The two best scenes, IMO, are Connie's wedding (especially the opening with Bonasera and the Don); and the entire Havana sequence (especially Hyman Roth's soliloquey). The Dons' convention scene, the Senate hearing, Michael and Frankie in Frankie's study, and Michael and Appolonia's father, are right up there.

pt 1 I also like the thunderbolt scene and the wedding of Mike and Appolonia.

pt 2 I like the scene when Kay and Mike are fighting about the abortion. I love his eyes. Can't stand Kay.

pt3 nothing except the silent scream.

Without a doubt, Michael and Vito having their talk in the garden. Vito understands what his son sacrificed for him and the family, and I beleive it is his one regret, that Michael had to step in. Michael's love for his father shines so brightly in that scene, it is one of the most touching and beautifully acted scenes in the trilogy.

In II, the scene with his mother, when he is worried about losing his family. In the flashacks, almost every scene with young Clemenza makes me laugh. As for drama, the scene with Fredo in the boathouse.

In III, I love the scene when Michael confesses to the priest, and also when he kneels at Don Tommassino's coffin.

Very good point, Blake. I feel the same way. Can't even think offhand of a really poor scene in either I or II.

to many to mention. but what i have in mind right now are the opening scene(Bonasera and Don Corleone), luca and Don Corleone(here we can see how powerful the Don is), killing of the families, killing of Don Fanucci and the ending of GF3.

To pin it down is hard. But having seen I and II a zillion times I'd have to say the scenes that I am riveted to are:

GF - Dinner at Louie's
GF2 - Vito stalking and killing Fanucci, then holding Michael
GF3 - sorry

I: very difficult to choose just one, but I would have to say the 'sit-down' because of Vito's powerful speech

II: any scene with Roth - especially the scolding he gave Michael when asked "who had Frank Pentangelli killed?"

III: the Atlantic City massacre

Part I: When carlo comes up to hug Michael and Michael says "get out of my sight." Then when he walks away after Clemenza kills carlo.(this is also Al Pacino's favorite scene according to an interview)

Part II: The end sequence- going from Fredo dying to the flash back with Sonny to michael and Vito on the train to finally Michael on the chair. This is the single best and emotional scene ever.

Part III: This is the funniest scene in the trilogy. "Hey joey zasa up ur ass" and he keys the car.

I have lots of favorites, and they change each time i watch the movies, but here are a few:

1) see my signature below
2) Vito's speech at the meeting of the heads of the families. "..or if he's struck by a bolt of lightning.." Vito is usually laid back and unassuming, but at that moment you realize, and the heads of the families realize, he is not one to fuck with. Michael never knew what a ballsy thing his old man did for him at that meeting. He threatened the heads of the five families to keep Mike safe.
3) When Vito comes home after losing his job at the grocery store and gives his wife the pear.

I have so many favorites, there's no way I can name them all,but the last time I watched it a particular scene stuck out as being beautifully done.
When Fredo walks into Vito's room after he's been shot.Fredo just sits down in the corner, and Vito looks away. Not a word was spoken, but it says so much.Great scene orange

I have to say that while it is probably not one of the best scenes in the trilogy, one of my favorite scenes is the flashback scene near the end of GFII when Michael is remembering the time at his father's birthday when he and his family are sitting around talking, the introduction of Carlo, etc. One of my favorite parts of that scene is when he tells them that he has joined the armed forces and Sonny almost loses his mind as Fredo reaches across the table to congratulate Mike! lol And maybe one of the best lines comes from Fredo when he replies to Sonny's remark about the Japs bombing Pearl Harbor on Pop's birthday; Fredo : "They didn;t know it was pop's birthday!" That line always cracks me up, no matter how many times I watch that scene. I felt that Coppola really captured the essence of Mike's heartbreak in losing his family while trying to save it!

My favourite scene of The Godfather Trilogy is in The Godfather II when Kay admits to Michael that she killed their son. The look in Michael's eyes is just incredible. Congratulations, Pacino!
