That was pretty funny. The guy has a sense of humor. But of course the ones who disagree with him will demonize him for something as stupid as this. If you're screaming or demonizing, then the very people you want to reach, which is those who don't agree with you, can't hear you.

May be, but this was just plain funny.

Absolutely not demonizing him. I am just ridiculing him!

He does have a sense of humor.

Annoyed with a reporter's questioning about his well-being, Bush suddenly headed for a set of double doors leading out of the grandly appointed room.

As he grabbed the large gold handles, he found the doors locked.

Trying to make light of the situation, Bush made faces for the cameras until an aide came to his rescue — and escorted him to the correct exit, a gap in the backdrop partition about 10 feet away.

"I was trying to escape," Bush admitted. "Obviously, it didn't work."

Kind of reminds me when he looked out on the DMZ in Korea with the lens caps still on the binoculars...

Every president has pulled something stupid, like Carter falling down stairs

Actually it was Ford who fell down the stairs. Carter had the "killer rabbit"

Well I sure laughed my a** off. Yea, all Presidents have their embarrassing moments, but this one is the master of them all.

They were talking about Bush's "mishap" today and brought up several other incidents with various Presidents. One I barely remember is this one from JFK. I had to google it to find out how to spell the German phrase:

"Probably the most famous of all is John Kennedy's announcement to the people of Berlin, "Ich bin ein Berliner!" JFK thought he said, "I am a citizen of Berlin!" What he *really* said was, "I am a jelly doughnut!" ("Berliner" is German for "jelly doughnut".)"

"Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind. War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today." JFK

Several years ago I checked this out with a friend of mine whose father is from Berlin. He said that while it was technically incorrect, it did not sound funny in German. As he said to me if I said "My wife is a New Yorker" would you think she was from New York of she was a well known magazine?? Or if you went into a deli and asked for a Danish, would the owner think you were asking for a person from Denmark?? This is what it sounded like to native German speakers which explains why the crowd cheered and did not burst out laughing. Bit of an urban myth this.

What it shows is that Bush has no exit strategy from a stage, let alone Iraq.

Yeah, well, Bush can't FART right, according to a few of the more gullible (who believe anything that comes out of the precious left-wing media). Whatever. . .

I've got an emoticon I'd like to share for that point, too, but it wouldn't be proper with all the little children that frequent (and post) on this BB.

Don't forget the gullible ones who believe anything that comes from the mouth of a government official...

See:

JFK Assassination
LBJ/Viet Nam
Nixon/Viet Nam
Ted Kennedy/Chappaquidick
Watergate
Iran-Contra
Cinton-Monica

to mention just a few.....

It was meant as a joke.

Let the record show I'm jokin', too. Frankly, any politician, any party. . .when you vote, you vote for what you THINK is the lesser of 2 evils. It's like sittin' back and watching a Greek tragedy.

That's for sure. I can't say if there was ever a candidate that I voted for that wasn't a case of the lesser of two evils.
