Wow, you guys get the best concerts over in the States... I would give anything to see Joni Mitchell in concert but I guess she's just taken to painting now

So to make up for it I've got tickets for Crosby, Stills and Nash in Manchester next weekend Will report back. And try not to wet myself.

Turi, I'd love to see the FLC too - didn't they tour last year in Britain?

My favourite concert was a Supergrass gig in Paris last summer, cos the lead singer is my cousin so the record company paid for all our booze afterwards we ended up running through the streets of Paris at 3am dodging autograph seekers Now if only I was related to Graham Nash....

Yeah I think it was last year. I was to see them in Liverpool but my plans fell through. They are the best band in the world.

Back in May I saw the re-united Motley Crue which was a damn good show. But the one show I'm looking forward to the most is August 9th when I'll finally be seeing Iron Maiden they're one of my all time favorite bands.

I'd have love to have been able to see Queen in concert, my family and I went to a Queen Show, but obvoiusly wasn't The Real Queen and even that was brilliant!

The best concert I have been to was Meat Loaf in 1999 which was a while ago now, I was only about 12 but it was amazing and I still love his music, we were going to go and see one of his concerts I think it was in Glasgow last year but it got cancelled because he had problems with his throat or something like that so I was gutted!

Enjoy, JG!

I am debating whether or not to see The Prodigy in November. £25 tickets.

Okay, so, what I saw on DVD wasn't a fluke -- Brian Wilson DOES have the absolute best backup band any artist could ever wish for!!

The show was incredible!!

Smile is no where near an album I actually particularly like, but, watching them perform it was unbelievable! And, the first set was all Beach Boys songs, and it blew me away! He's still got it, after all these years...!

Geoff,

Just Brian Wilson or the Beach Boys?

I saw the Beach Boys a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It was an outdoor concert, middle of summer. The best way to describe it was nostalgic and "fun, fun fun"!

Alright, well yesterday was my first concert ever and it totally kicked ass. I'm definetly going to the Warped Tour again next year. I'm planning on seeing the Used on September 3rd in Atlantic City too. Fall Out Boy, Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance, and Weezer are all coming to Philly this fall too. I can't fucking wait. I had a blast yesterday. We made great time in getting down there and were in Camden by 7:30. I got totally drunk off my ass when we met these cool people from Philly. I had a blast. No hang over and I remember it all. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Definetly will never forget yesterday.

I saw Billy Joel and Elton John two years ago. I would have to say, out of all six artists I've seen in concert, Billy Joel tops them with one hell of a show. Movin' Out (his musicial) is also something you should check out. If you're into broadway stuff, you should definitely put Movin' Out on your list of stuff to see before you die.

Just him -- Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE , which is an album that he started almost 40 years ago and recently went back to complete.

He performs that album, along with many Beach Boys classics, with a wonderful band I could not do justice describing. Let's just say he has a string and horn section that will blow you away -- and the harmonies were perfect. (Most of them, I believe, performed on the DVD "Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds Live in London" which I highly recommend getting.)

Seeing Brian Wilson, to me, is almost like seeing The Beatles. He's a genius.

Geoff, that sounds awesome! I've always loved the Beach Boys - I can remember listening to their songs when I was very little...they're just such great "feel-good" tunes.

I think it'd also be fun to hear some of Brian Wilson doing the non-Beach Boy songs, as you heard.

JG, are you familiar with this film? I'm sure it's just got a theatrical release over here. Well, it was reviewed in Sight & Sound not too long ago.

And, in passing, my orthodontist is called Brian Wilson too.

I don't think I've seen that, actually - thanks! But again, SMiLE isn't an album I particularly like: but the performance of it was incredible. I prefer Pet Sounds -- I have the CD Boxed Set, and they include the entire album with vocals only. OMG, that's the only disc I ever play in the whole set! But his live performance of Pet Sounds (on DVD) was incredible.

As for Weezer, I love'm! I haven't heard much of the new album yet, but I have the green one, and the extended blue one (with great outtakes on the second disc).

The Rolling Stones actually just added Baltimore, MD to their current world tour. They're coming her February 1, 2006. Of course, this is a big deal beings any group that's really good usually bipasses us and goes to D.C. Then I saw the price of the tickets.

$200-$400 for a ticket!!! Not everyone in Baltimore is a crack dealer and can afford that. Sorry Mick. I'll have to pass you by this time. I think I'll go see Hilary Duff for $35.00.

I'd love to see the Stones, having never seen them in concert before. You're right Beth, they are very expensive. They'll be at Angel Stadium in Anaheim in November(it's outside and I'd probably freeze ). Tickets start at $135, and thats a "limited view". You're probably looking at at least 300. for an "ok" seat.

I think this is why most groups stay away from here. Our arena holds less then 12,000. I don't see how some bands can get away with a $50-$60.00 price range. Sure, the more popular you are you'll get more for your tickets. I can't justify that price.

Now if it was BonJovi I'd put a 2nd mortgage on my house to get the tickets.

I went to my 6th Dave Matthews concert last night. This was the 4th time I'd seen him play in Selma (which is right outside San Antonio). Every year there I've always done this until last night. My friend and his girlfriend buy tickets in the pitt area but this year they bought there's 2 days after they went on sale and the pitt was already sold out so they still got seats but the next level up. Well I bought a the general admission/lawn seats. So my friend and his girlfriend get there seats and then he comes back with her ticket while she's holding the seats and I show them her ticket and he shows them his so we can all 3 seat together. I missed the first 2 songs while I was waiting for them to get a drink and get there seats. So they finally do and all 3 of us are coming and going with bathroom breaks and beer stops. So finally the concert is going on for about almost 2 hours and 2 f'n songs before they leave for the encore later on 2 of the ushers start to stare at all 3 of us because we were in the front row on the end. The motherf*cker next to me wouldn't move over a f&cking inch so I had to squeeze in between him and my friend. The security guys continue to look at us as another asks us for our tickets. My friend and his girlfriend show him there tickets and tell the guy my girlfriend has mine. He "needs" to see it so I have to leave. I spend the next 2 songs plus the first encore song looking for my friends brothers who were also at the concert. I couldn't find them and about halfway during the final song of the night I noticed they weren't checking tickets anymore so I went back down with my friend and his girlfriend while 1 of the ushers continued to stare at us. What pisses me off the most is that the motherf*cker next to me wouldn't move over a f*cking inch so we could hide better, plus the usher told my friends girlfriend (I found this out later) that the reason he was checking our tickets was because someone was "complaining"! Can you believe that!? 2 songs before the encore, 4 more total and the concert was over and they start to b*tch right then and there. What are we in kindergarden!? I know I wasn't the only one who does this little "trick" and it just pissed me off that for 3 years we always got away with it and this year I had to leave because of the a$$hole next to me and the little b*tch that squealed!

I went to see Weezer and Foo Fighters tonight and all I can say is I can FINALLY die a happy man! Weezer came out first and just rocked the f'n house! I was hoping to hear Island In the Sun, Buddy Holly, Say It Ain't So, In the Garage, and Hashpipe. He played those plus more of my favorites. Not to mention his version of Island In the Sun was acoustic only and about 7 or 8 rows down from me! All I can say after watching that performance was I could have left right then and there and have been completely satisfied! Weezer brought IT!

I've been a Foo Fighters fan since there first album but haven't been one much lately since their last 2 albums (I don't listen to a lot of new music anymore). I loved that I got to see Foo Fighters and I'm happy to say that I did see them and they did play Hero, Everlong and Money Wrench, but other than that I was diappointed. Not so much with their performance because they were awesome as well (not as much as Weezer) but I think the thing that displeased me the most with Foo Fighters were the songs they played.
