Grrrr, I can't win for losing. We were having a little Memorial Day party at my neighbor's house last night, and my neighbor asked me to bring my guitar over and play some music for them. So I walked back to my house, grabbed my guitar and my amp, stepped out the back door, and I twisted my ankle so bad, that the side of my foot literally touched my leg. I can't even walk right now. To be honest, I'd rather it be broken than to have torn a ligament or something. Broken bones heal a lot better (and a lot faster) than torn muscles and ligaments. Looks like I'm gonna be outta work for a few weeks.

Ouch! That's too bad. You better have a doctor check it out. Are you in a lot of pain?

That's terrible! I sure hope you do okay.

I sprained my ankle in December of '03, I believe, and I couldn't stand it. Luckily, I was on Christmas break, so I didn't have to be at school, but I couldn't stand not being able to move around. It happened when I was playing baseball on the street with no shoes on. Not the best idea, I learned. I used crutches most places, but a rolling chair got me up and down the hallway easily.

Well, good luck, and I hope you get well quick and feel alright.

Ow! Make sure you get it treated soon! I hope you get good painkillers or something... because whatever it is, it's not going to feel better on its own any time soon.

Keep us posted on how you're feeling! Good luck!

Thing is an injury like this totally weakens the whole affected area for years to come. My daughter badly sprained hers age 7 and now a teenager still has problems with it. Maybe being in a warmer climate may help Don C. The cold here in UK makes everything worse/ache more. Take care of yourself

It's kinda funny. Not "funny" funny, but ironic. I did the same thing to my right ankle 2 years ago on a vacation to Florida. My brother-in-law and I were wrestling around in my grandparent's front yard, and he put me in an ankle lock and ended up tearing tendons and ligaments in that ankle. It sucked because it was right before graduation, but I was lucky enough to be able to walk again before I walked the stage.

So rather than re-injure the bad ankle, I mess up the good one. Story of my life!

Nothing worse than an injury when the weather is nice. Hope you get back on your feet and are healthy in quick order.

Oh, XDC, I'm so sorry for you!
It's terrible to be out of shape in any way, but especially when it pains. Take care and treat it well!

Just got back from the doctor's office. The doctor poked and prodded my ankle, and twisted and turned it in directions they shouldn't be turned in this condition, and concluded that I have a slight tear in one of the ligaments. I'll be outta work for 3 weeks.

I hope you get a fast and painless recovery.

I'm sorry you hurt your ankle XDCX. I wish you a speedy recovery. Did the doc put you in some kind of a cast so you can walk? Same thing happened to my hubby years ago and they put a cast on him up to his knee. Have your nephew kiss it and it will feel better. Keep us posted on how you are doing? Since you will be home for awhile maybe you can stomp me again on name that tune.
