I've just heard from a friend of mine that mints have this special ability to left you sterile if consumed in industrial quantities. That, obviously, scared the hell out of me because ever since I was 12, I've been eating about 150 tic tacs per year (not 150 candies, but 150 boxes). That leads to 600 for 4 years (eat me). Well, so I'm a bit scared because if that's true, then my last name won't be existing much longer, and that would obviously make my dad and my grandad upset. Could anybody tell me if that's true, about those mints getting you to be sterile?
:p Sorry for the question

I never heard that, Jabs -- I wouldn't worry about it; in fact, mint is supposed to be good to soothe your stomach. But, beware of Bubble Yum (do they still even make that??) -- they say in contains spiders eggs!!

I knew that smoking menthol cigarettes may lead you to become sterile.

Well.... look at this way - Multiplication is a form of reproduction, so if too many mints don't actually make you incapable of multiplying they may just you make you incapable of multiplying CORRECTLY. The Bubble-Yum rumor is false, but there's an interesting (and true) one about JELL-O brand gelatin. Urban Legends -- JELL-O Claim: JELL-O is made from bones and hides. Status: True. Origins: Sometimes the most Made from contented cows innocuous of foodstuffs contain constituents whose origins are less than appetizing. Such is the case with JELL-O, a dessert that has graced millions of dinner tables since its 1897 debut. Underneath JELL-O's jiggly wholesomeness lurks a secret many consumers are disconcerted to learn: JELL-O is made from gelatin, an animal product rendered from the hides and bones of animals. The production of gelatin starts with the boiling of bones, skins, and hides of cows and pigs, a process that releases the protein-rich collagen from animal tissues. The collagen is boiled and filtered numerous times, dried, and ground to a powder. Because the collagen is processed extensively, the final product is not categorized as a meat or animal product by the federal government. Very strict vegetarians avoid gelatin entirely, but more permissive vegetarians have no problem including JELL-O in their diets. JELL-O products account for about 80 percent of the gelatin market. Popular belief has it that gelatin comes from horses' and cows' hooves. Kraft, the maker of JELL-O, asserts that hooves do not contain the necessary collagen and therefore are not used in the production of their JELL-O brand gelatin product. Thank God I stopped eating JELL-O in the fifth grade!

I don't get how 150 boxes a year = 600 in 3 years. OK, look at it this way 12 years of age= 150 13 years of age= 300 14 years of age= 450 15 years of age= 600 15-12= 3 Maybe it wasn't that clear, because I didn't really count one year. My mistake. I guess my maths teacher messed up.

And yes, I know, what a stupid mistake, but it's not really important anyway, just first grade maths :p
