Italian OC is a high interest of mine. I love the history behind it.

Mexico on the other hand? The Cartels I have no interest in.

Anyone here feel the same? Just something about that country that rubs me the wrong way and the people who are involved in Cartels in general and how they operate business.

I feel that way as well. LCN has been a great topic of interest for me since I first saw GF as a young boy. However, there are some pretty wild cartel topics that are fascinating to me. For instance, I know you are interested in more things Chicago. Check out the Flores twins. Two twins from Chicago who had deep control of drug flow through the city, and were direct with El Chapo. They ended up testifying against him, but their overall story is wild. Definitely worth reading up on.

Yes I am familiar with those two and I do find their story very interesting as well. Im speaking in general about Mexico, for the most part I'd much rather read stuff anything connected to the mob here than about Cartels.

Also the Flores twins are in Witness Protection and I Wonder if they will ever be found dead somewhere. We know there are guys out there looking for them and eventually may take them both out.

50 Cent produced a podcast with them where they are interviewed, and its pretty good. I do believe that one day one or maybe both of them will try and start their car and it will be the last thing they do. Their father was undoubtedly murdered in Mexico by the Cartels.

When did their father get whacked and where did that take place? I know Mexico, but what area?

The Cartels can get to anyone and Im convinced these guys will be both dead within the next 5-10 years.

Ethnically speaking Italian OC interests me for various reasons. I agree with you about Mexican cartels but have to say I fear what their activities can cause more than other organized criminal elements.

When the brothers flipped around 2008/2009, their father stupidly tried to go to Mexico to hash things out with cartel. His car was found in the Sinaloan dessert, and he was presumed dead. Body was never recovered.

Was their father involved in the life as well? What an ignorant thing to even attempt.

Yes, he brought them into that life from a young age. They mention that they were 7 when they started going to Mexico with their dad to smuggle pot into the US.

Let's compare a centuries old secret society that has evolved under countless different invaders and distant rulers and some racketeering migrant farmers who've been organized for maybe fifty years.

Traditional organized crime is most interesting, this could be American, Italian, French, Dutch, British, Japanese, Chinese etc..
